( It’s been a slow day at the citadel, at least, for actual shounen-notmermaid-turned-person, Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki. He’s finished his field work with plenty of time and energy to spare and without any missions to go on, he’s decided to have some fun for himself.
… Unfortunately, a certain saniwa has hidden their phone away. Wow, talk about no fun. He really wanted to play that one game again. You know, that one game everyone is playing these days according to the colorful ads on tv. He was getting the hang of it the other day. Actually, he’s pretty sure he was even winning! And he was making so many new friends with those “invites.” Well, you can hide your technology from Mutsu but you can't defeat him.
As much as he enjoys this new time, he still enjoys a lot of the old traditions, just like his first master. Which is why you can find him outside, crouched on the ground in front of a small fire pit, roasting some yams he picked while working the field earlier. It's a little out of season but the seasons don't run his life, they don't control his story.
Before you can ask (were you even going to?) Mutsu notices you hanging around and beckons to come over. Yes, even if you’re a particularly stubborn Shinsengumi sword. )
Hey! C'mon over here!

Hey! C'mon over here!

Are ya doin` anything right now? If ya're free, you should sit with me! ( And holding up one roasted yam on a stick enticingly... ) C'mon, I've got plenty ta share.
( Do you see this basket... )
no subject
Yes, I'm free...
[His eyes are drawn towards the roasted yam. Ooooh, that look and smell good, and blinks.]
...I can have one?
[ACTUALLY GIVING HIM FOOD...]
no subject
One? Ya can have more than that if ya want. C'mon, sit.
( And he'll toss a stick over so that they can get started. )

But he did seems to brighten up a bit and catches the thrown stick easily. Hey, all that training means he have pretty good reflexes! All the better to fight and seek revenge for the master. Once it's in his hands, Sayo would quietly sit down next to Mutsu.
Man, look at the sheer size difference between them. Why are almost all of you non-tantou swords so big? Almost, since there's Hotarumaru...
Anyway, now that he's sitting down, Sayo's looking at the fire and the roasting yams curiously.]
Are those yours?
[He can always ask Mutsu to pass him a yam from the basket.]
no subject
Huh? Kinda! I was thinkin` of takin` some to master when I finished here. Y'know, since they've been workin` pretty hard these days but if ya want one, help ya'rself.
( Before he passes any yams over, he has to ask SINCE APPARENTLY THERE ARE A MILLION SHELTERED SWORDS THAT HAVE NEVER LIVED LIFE A DAY IN THEIR LIVES )
... Have ya ever done this before?
no subject
Yeah, he would heard about it. But he shakes his head.]
Not really... I never really have thought about it before.
[TOO MUCH REVENGE ON HIS MIND.]
