A. First Meeting

( Forged from fire or won in battle, today is the day Maki will meet a new spirit. The blade presented to her is unfamiliar. If there are any significant characteristics on the sword, the meaning would be lost to a girl still learning her skill and history. The unknown factor is what makes meeting a new spirit so exciting every time.

Stepping forward, she touches the blade, sensing the spirit within, and closes her eyes as a flash of light appears. After a moment, she opens one eye curiously and then both, greeting the sword with a friendly and excited smile. )

B. Tiny Shikigami

( On the patio outside, Maki is folding a paper crane. It's a slow day at the citadel due to most of the swords being away on missions today. Not that she minds too much-- they always came back and until then, she had others to keep her company.

She finishes her crane and sets it down on her lap and waits a few moments longer. Idly, she plays with the crane. If one watches closely enough however, they might see the crane... flap its wings on its own. )

C. Special Day

( Today is a special day! Today, everyone gets to take a break from the fighting to go to the summer festival nearby. Maki is already dressed in her festive kimono and waiting for some of the others to get ready. You see, they can't drive to the festival so they're going to have to walk all the way there. It's not an outrageously long walk but it will definitely take some time. Even the path from the citadel to the main road takes a while.

If you don't hurry up, they'll miss the best part! She isn't really sure what the "best part" is, since this is her first time going to this particular festival but she doesn't want to miss it. It could be a parade! Or fireworks! Or a performance! Unable to wait patiently any longer but trying to not sound bossy about it, she calls out from the front door, )

( Whether it's writing poetry, drinking tea, or nothing at all, Maki will peek into whatever room you're currently using and ask, )

( Can she help? Can she watch? Can she join in? She wants to have fun with you too. )
