Not going is the simple solution, the obvious solution, but - is that really a course of action (or rather, inaction) that they can take? Midare shudders to think of their master's reaction to being told No, I won't go.

He isn't Ichigo - he's not really the big brother of the Toushirou group. But he is the only member of it that hasn't been broken at least once, so he does feel some sort of responsibility toward them.
