☼ BEACH VACATION MEME ☼ Summer begins, and the saniwa's army earns a well deserved vacation. All expenses paid for by their organization, from travel to lodging to food, and yes, even the swim wear and toys. The water is blue, the skies are (mostly) clear, and it's time to have some fun at the beach! Watch out for the jellyfish and KBseagulls. ***Feel free to include some prompts in your top level. If you can't think of any, pick from below for some ideas!** 001.IN THE WATER This is why you're here, right? Take to the water and splash around. Now might be a good time to learn to swim if you don't already. But watch out! Here comes a large wave--! 002.SANDCASTLES This is it... the enemy's stronghold... not! It's a race against the clock to build a castle before the tide comes in. Collect those seashells, fortify your fortress, and don't be a jerk and ruin some else's castle. 003.SUNBATHING or maybe you've opted to sit under the shade of a large umbrella instead. Some times it's good to just sit back, relax, and watch to make sure no one needs to be rescued later. Keep an eye on the tide or you might find yourself getting wet anyway. 004. BEACH ANIMALS There are tiny fish in the tide pools, crabs crawling around, and uwah are those sea turtles?! Tsurumaru, put that octopus down right now. Ouch, did that jellyfish get you? And look, over there! That's a dolphin! You know, dolphins are intelligent creatures and have been known to help people-- WAIT NO ITS A SHARK ITS A SHARK NOT A FRIENDLY FISH IT LOOKS LIKE A DOLPHIN BUT ITS A SHARK. 005.MELON SLICING The organization has been kind enough to provide food and drink as well. They must have felt very clever sending all of those watermelons, though. Really, who needs that many watermelons? It's a competition to see which sword is the True Melonslasher. 006.STORM Those clouds came in so quickly, you barely had a chance to notice. The sky is dark, the rain is pouring down, and the wind is blowing cold. It's time to quickly collect your things and try to find some place dry. 007.KBCGULLS. Oh no, who fed the seagulls? They're circling around like vultures and making swoops at you, trying to steal your food. Hey, wait, that's not even edible! Was it just you or was there an evil glint in that bird's eye just now...? 008.BEACH PARTY. All of those watermelons you sliced earlier are being put to use. The sun is setting, the food is out, and a bonfire is going on the beach. Eat your heart out and dance around the fire. Watch the sunset, look at the stars, this sure is nice, isn't it? 009.WILDCARD. Mix and match. Create your own prompt. Find the dragon king's palace or something.

Ah, hello Vietnam! [ Kogitsunemaru perks up! ] Aren't these little creatures neat? [ He motions around himself, ending with a hand outstretched toward the obvious challenger crab which snaps its claws at Kogitsunemaru's fingers. ]

They're a little aggressive. I've never seen these before! Have you? [ He can't help but laugh, it all seems really silly. Is this natural? ]

[She winces on his behalf while she tries to shoo the little things away from hurting him, or perhaps accidentally chopping off parts of his hair.]

W-well, they are very impressive yes! I've seen them from time to time whenever I go to the beach.

But I think they may have thought you threatened them somehow, which is why they want to fight you. Perhaps you should make peace.

[ The crabs don't seem very receptive to Vietnam's attempts to break the ring of crustacean combat. If crabs could frown, they would. Instead, they'll just snap at her fingers.

Meanwhile, Kogitsunemaru is poking the ever-loving crap out of the one sitting with him in the circle. Poke, poke, poke. He's gently prodding the big one. MAN, IF CRABS COULD FROWN... ]

Threaten? How'd I threaten them? They seem way smarter than horses!

[She quickly pulls her fingers back when the crabs protest! They're so feisty! Be careful, crabs, she could turn you all into food too.

Kogitsunemaru on the other hand is actually very brave to being to poke that poor crab friend of his.]

Actually, you are right, they do seem very clever...a bit too clever...[SHE'S ONTO YOU, CRABS.] But it could've been an accident, that you didn't mean to!

[ CRABS SHOW NO MERCY, even to spirits. Countries and swords don't intimidate them! They would make a pretty good soup, though. ]

Ah, I only tripped and I did apologize. [ Does an apology count if includes the following phrase? 'Sorry, ugly bug things'. They're not bugs or things, so there's probably some hurt feelings or something-something...

But the boss crab, having probably lost its patience, makes the first move and clamps down hard on Kogitsunemaru's best pointer finger. ]

[CRABS TOO BRAVE. Then again, since they're spirits, the crabs probably thought they could keep dishing them out pain. Too bad the crabs can be killed (into soup. Mmmm).]

O-oh did you-- [Except she can't even finish that because Boss Crab has launched its attack!!! Vietnam practically throws herself at them so she can try to pry the crab off Kogitsunemaru's finger.]

Let go!

[ Dear Crab Leader, not expecting a double team of a wildly flailing hand and a being pried off, is sent flying. Skipping, actually, as it's slung toward the shore and off of the water, where it bounces--- one, two, three times, before it presumably sinks into the water. ]

Ah, thank you Vietnam! [ The crab didn't really hurt him, but wow it had a steely vice grip that could never be replicated by man-made tools, so thank goodness for her!

Uh, but those other crabs definitely don't look happy. They're all staring. This could be a problem... ]

[Poor crab leader!!! But at least it'll live! The problem now is its legion of followers!

Not that she noticed this yet because she's too busy trying to check on his finger, holding it up, checking for cuts, giving it a good rub to soothe it.]

Are you alright? I mean your human form should be fine, but...

[But just in case! Also, what's that odd feeling she's getting...oh. She sees them.]

[ Bless Viet-mom, she's so concerned! He's touched by the general care she's giving him and his finger, which isn't really hurt at all. The little fox certainly appreciates it, so he'll let her nurture him for a little bit.

Well, until he notices the crabs scuttling toward them. ]

I'm fine, but I feel like we need to move.

[ Because THEY'RE COMING ]

[OF COURSE!!! She has to make sure he's okay. Even though he's more than okay, but there she is, just rubbing his finger.

And looks up.]

A-ah...yes lets quickly make a run for it!

[ TIME TO GO! He'll grab Vietnam's arm and pull her along, mostly to let her catch up speed-wise (she's probably faster than him anyway, so that shouldn't take too long, right).

But oh man, there's a lot of crabs. Some probably came from the water to join up with the slowly growing army of crabs moving unnaturally fast. ]

Suggestions, Vietnam? [ KEEP MOVING, STAMPEDE OF CRABS COMING, HOPEFULLY NO ONE GETS IN THE WAY ]

Whoa--!! [And as he grabs her, she runs quickly after him!! She's quick, but her legs are still shorter than his, so she needs to run more quickly in comparison, but there, caught up!

Yet they're so fast. How is that even possible?!]

This is abnormal! [She takes a look behind her as before continuing.] They are too fast for us to hide. Unless we try to get to higher ground? [Climb a tree?! Can these crabs climb?!]

[ Well, at least the two of them aren't being chased by a hoard of these. Still though, gotta go fast!

His eyes search for trees, any trees. Oh, there are some (and he'll point at them) but they're farther ahead and closer to land than the water. They'll have to turn in that direction and hope the wave of crabs doesn't catch them. ]

That way! [ He points, risking a second to look behind them and WHAT?! Reinforcements?! ]

[THAT'S TRUE, OTHERWISE THEY'RE DEAD. Or she'll have to kill them all. She'd rather not though, they did intrude into crab territory.

Once he points them out, she nods and follows them. She notices his shocked face though, and glances back before looking forward immediately.]

...faster?

Yes. Faster. [ They're so close to the tree! Kogi will slow down just for a second to let Vietnam climb up first (it was his fault that she got dragged into this odd mess). It's a palm tree, not exactly the best for scaling, but it'll hold them both hopefully long enough for the crabs to go away. ]

Go on up! [ THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A NICE DAY WHYYYYYyyyyy ]

[A palm tree, this is going to be awkward. She quickly smooths down her clothes first and thank the heavens she's wearing something on top of her beachwear right now otherwise chafing?!

Quickly, she grips onto the tree and starts to scale, being as fast as she can so that she can give enough room for Kogitsunemaru to follow. He's a big little fox, after all!]

Kogitsunemaru!

[She's climbed enough for now, so she holds out her hand so he can have enough leverage to make the leap up the tree instead of having to climb up from scratch.]

[ Oh god, chafing. DON'T HURT YOURSELF, VIETNAM (or discomfort yourself, it can't be easy climbing up such a silly, bendable tree).

He'll jump up to take her hand (wow she's got a strong grip), pulling himself up using the tree as some leverage. Luckily, none of the crabs were smart enough to latch onto his hanging clothes or hair! Ha, they're so dumb. ]

You all right? [ He'll keep his eyes downward, toward the snapping crabs, who don't know what climbing is. They're really good at swarming though. ]

[IT'S ALL GOOD, SHE'S FINE! At least she's light so it's not difficult for her. And her nails are strong and perfect so she's not damaging herself by gripping onto the tree.

And whoop, she helps guide him as he climbs! But now they are trapped here and they look kind of stupid.]

I'm alright, thank you. What of yourself, Kogitsunemaru? [His hair is long, so she was a little nervous, but it's okay, it looks.]

[ He gives himself a once-over. All seems fine, no crabs have taken a ride up the tree with the two of them. And they seem extremely incapable of following, so they'll keep taking turns snapping at the trunk and hope for something to happen (which nothing will, they're just crabs). ]

All good. [ But he'll keep watching them. It's not like Vietnam and he could be in this tree forever... they definitely do look REALLY DUMB in the tree and god when will the crabs just give up. ]

When do you think they'll go away...?

[Done! Now it's just waiting out. Which is unfortunate. And the crabs seem to know that they can't be up there forever. So there they are, looking and waiting...

While they're looking more foolish by the second. She'll try to help cheer Kogitsunemaru up, since she knows he'll probably blame himself. There there, reaching out to pat one of his hairears.]

We can only hope. As long as we do not fear them. I think they can smell fear.

[ Waiting, waiting, waiting... oh goodness. This is not what Kogitsunemaru had in mind for a vacation, especially because it ruins Vietnam's fun time as well. He'll make a mental note to never upset a crab ever again, especially if they're kind-of-giant enemy crabs.

But, oh. Ooh. Pets?! Well, he can't say no to those. It'll definitely calm him down.

...until the fear comment. Do those little hairears perk up? Maybe. ]

They have noses?!

[It's okay Kogitsunemaru! If anything, at least they can be prepared to eat them next time (wow).

Seeing as he seems to visibly look happier with hairear pets, she continues doing so. Even when they perk up, ah...]

Perhaps it is more accurate to say they sense fear.

[ Next time, the crabs will be running from him. He won't think twice about slicing and dicing some of those damn things into bite sized chunks and they'll have a great evening barbecue.

Funny how those little hairears tend to spring right back up for more pets and Kogitsunemaru is easily placated, the irritation he's feeling being drawn out by Vietnam's hand. ]

Think they're aware of their own annoying behavior? [ The crabs ARE starting to vacate the area, as some start heading back to the water. Perhaps they're as impatient as he is! ]

[He'll be so popular once he starts up that barbecue!!

And ah, he's so receptive to it. She keeps doing it also because his hair is so soft. It's so soft she's probably slightly envious. But so comfortable so that she could keep going.]

Perhaps, they aren't known to be angelic. Though sometimes are timid. The ones you encountered though are very feisty.

[ And everyone will be invited! Even the most antisocial of the swords won't be able to say no to delicious food... you know, like that one dategumi. The countries are also invited!

... well, the ones that Vietnam approves. She knows them better than he does.

But oh, the crabs are all gone now, though he still would love to keep receiving those nice pats. ]

The feisty ones are gone... hopefully for good. [ Internal fist pump! No one is hurt, so that's great... but he won't move, yet. ]
