☼ BEACH VACATION MEME ☼ Summer begins, and the saniwa's army earns a well deserved vacation. All expenses paid for by their organization, from travel to lodging to food, and yes, even the swim wear and toys. The water is blue, the skies are (mostly) clear, and it's time to have some fun at the beach! Watch out for the jellyfish and KBseagulls. ***Feel free to include some prompts in your top level. If you can't think of any, pick from below for some ideas!** 001.IN THE WATER This is why you're here, right? Take to the water and splash around. Now might be a good time to learn to swim if you don't already. But watch out! Here comes a large wave--! 002.SANDCASTLES This is it... the enemy's stronghold... not! It's a race against the clock to build a castle before the tide comes in. Collect those seashells, fortify your fortress, and don't be a jerk and ruin some else's castle. 003.SUNBATHING or maybe you've opted to sit under the shade of a large umbrella instead. Some times it's good to just sit back, relax, and watch to make sure no one needs to be rescued later. Keep an eye on the tide or you might find yourself getting wet anyway. 004. BEACH ANIMALS There are tiny fish in the tide pools, crabs crawling around, and uwah are those sea turtles?! Tsurumaru, put that octopus down right now. Ouch, did that jellyfish get you? And look, over there! That's a dolphin! You know, dolphins are intelligent creatures and have been known to help people-- WAIT NO ITS A SHARK ITS A SHARK NOT A FRIENDLY FISH IT LOOKS LIKE A DOLPHIN BUT ITS A SHARK. 005.MELON SLICING The organization has been kind enough to provide food and drink as well. They must have felt very clever sending all of those watermelons, though. Really, who needs that many watermelons? It's a competition to see which sword is the True Melonslasher. 006.STORM Those clouds came in so quickly, you barely had a chance to notice. The sky is dark, the rain is pouring down, and the wind is blowing cold. It's time to quickly collect your things and try to find some place dry. 007.KBCGULLS. Oh no, who fed the seagulls? They're circling around like vultures and making swoops at you, trying to steal your food. Hey, wait, that's not even edible! Was it just you or was there an evil glint in that bird's eye just now...? 008.BEACH PARTY. All of those watermelons you sliced earlier are being put to use. The sun is setting, the food is out, and a bonfire is going on the beach. Eat your heart out and dance around the fire. Watch the sunset, look at the stars, this sure is nice, isn't it? 009.WILDCARD. Mix and match. Create your own prompt. Find the dragon king's palace or something.

[ Yamanbagiri jerks the stick back, a little startled by Kashuu's cry. The sudden movement is enough to have that first marshmallow break free from the stick and plummet into the fire. ]

Ah--!

[ He stares at the marshmallow casualty, bubbling and melting away on the log where it fell. The air is now sweetened by the burning sugar. He's stunned, half in disbelief that part of his dessert to be has been cruelly foiled.

The second marshmallow is still salvageable for the treat. ]

[Oops. Bye marshmallow, we knew ye. What a brave soldier...]

[ He's probably pouting a little as he nods his head for another. Manba's the reason there are two schools of thought on the Kunihiro sibling order: youngest or middle child. Pulling the remaining marshmallow aside, he starts to sandwich it between the chocolate and cookies. ]

[Kashuu's expression basically seems to say ughhh this depressing topic again. Well, every sword has his issues... or something.]

[Holding the bag out toward him open-end first and everything!]

[ He takes another marshmallow and puts it on the stick. However, he waits to eat his current s'more first before attempting to cook another one. He won't fail this time! The real Yamanbagiri wouldn't have burned a marshmallow. ]

Are you going to make another one?

[LOOK... he knows he has some issues... maybe. Maybe.

Either way, he'll sit back while Yamanbagiri starts on his s'mores again.]

Maybe a little later. They're kinda sweet, y'know? Like, a little too sweet for me. [A shrug follows, lazy and sloping.] But they're not bad.

[ It'd be harder to find a sword without issues. ]

You don't like sweet things?

[ It's only half a question. Manba knows that not everyone has a sweet tooth like him, but he's a little surprised that Kashuu doesn't. Perhaps he likes salty foods instead. Fitting for a cashew. ]

[Where did all the sane swords go...]

Not really. [A shrug! With his penchant for bubblegum-pop and cute accessories, it probably seems like he'd be stuffing his face with sugar, but no... SALTY FOODS FITTING FOR A CASHEW.] They're not bad or anything, but a lot of sweets these days are super sweet, y'know?

[ Sword spirit that is sane... maybe Fi of the Master Sword?! ... Maybe? All others are lack sanity. ]

Have you tried eating them with some bitter tea? It helps cut down the sweet. You can try it if you like.

[They sure do try, though. Good work team.]

Maybe! I don't really like bitter stuff either, but I guess it'd probably even itself out, yeah?

[ They work hard at what they do, and then cry back at the citadel. ]

It does.

[ The next marshmallow is nicely cooked and has not suffered any early demise by fire. However, he doesn't have any cookies or chocolate to sandwich it in between yet. ]

... You said you had different chocolate, right?

[ He'll make up for his past failure by being more of a culinary experiment! ]

Right! I haaave- [Pausing to rummage through his bags!] -These kinds.

[It's quite a variety, including the usual milk, white and dark. There also seems to be a cookies n' creme bar tucked in with the rest.]

[ He eyes the cookie n' cream warily. That would be different, but would it be too different? Yamanbagiri thinks about it a moment more before pointing to a bar of dark chocolate. ]

I'll try that one this time and see what it's like without as much sweetness.

[Handing it over! Good pick, comrade.]

It's pretty good. Tell me what you think, 'kay?

[ He gets to work assembling this new cookie-s'more. ]

[ Now for the moment of the truth. Yamanbagiri holds the s'more, waiting for it to cool slightly before he takes that first bite. Again, the way his eyes light up gives his answer before words. ]

It is. The dark chocolate isn't as sweet. You'd like it more.

[ More than the milk chocolate at least. This combination is worth repeating. ]

I figured, y'know? That's why I brought it.

[But he just ended up using poor Yamanbagiri as a litmus test instead... Well! At least now they both know that it's a good and tasty combination.]

[ Again, better to use a duplicate for experiments and keep the precious pretty sword in better condition should it fail.

But there are no failures. Only delicious camp sweets. ]

It's the best combination so far.

[ But he wonders if he should dare to try the white chocolate and the cookies and cream. Can swords get cavities and stomach aches from too many sweets? Where are his brothers to keep him in check? ]

Kashuu sure isn't going to keep him in check, though. He still hasn't learned the whole "eating sweets in moderation" lesson for himself yet anyway, considering he never eats enough to reach a point of Regret™.]
