[The Citadel is huge, so it's a good thing they have all the time in the world to dick around.

--Well, no, they don't. But the point is, it's a free day. There will be absolutely no work done at all. Unless you want to or something. If you do, you're pretty weird.

The dojo is always open for sparring and practice. If there's any sparring errand you've slacked on, now's the chance to make up! The horse stables are also full of activity, whether the horses are being tended to or rode around-- be careful not to let them trample the fields, though, which is full of rice sprouts and budding cabbage. The lake in front of the saniwa(s)' room has tiny frogs jumping about, and you could catch them in the palm of your hand.

The kitchen is full of food, if you're volunteering to make lunch or have decided that meal time cannot possibly come any later and you simply must prepare something before you die from starvation. While there has been a considerable effort made to make the Citadel look as homely as possible to the swords which come from Japan's past, there's speckles of technology here and there.

The TV room is a good example, with a huge screen sitting on top of a few console systems. Don't break them, you'll only be getting this luxury once. Take turns and play nice. The swords may also find themselves tending the fields with water sprinklers and hoses instead of watering cans, for instance, or heating up some leftover pie in the fridge instead of making another one from scratch since there's technology to preserve food well over a week. The armory and smithy are definitely a little bit more modern than they'd be back in the past, though much is still made by hand-- nothing beats the fine work of a master. Perhaps you'll have a few new friends today, or you want to try creating a cute little soldier spirits to die for you accompany you in battle. Make sure they enter the orb completely, or else it'll turn brown and crack.

Or perhaps you're one of the unlucky swords still stuck in the repair room, sword body still being re-smelted and fixed. Hope the saniwa is good at making you all shiny. If you want to skip all that waiting, perhaps you can try to use a helper token... but they're all in the saniwa's room! Guess you've got to use that Camouflage stat...

But if you truly cannot bear with staying in the Citadel, the time device the saniwa(s) have isn't locked away. You can go on sorties or expeditions to fill your time with something productive.

Just a warning: don't change the past. You won't succeed.

[The lake around the citadel is rather beautiful. Sometimes during her visits, even she would like to walk around it. Actually, she's surprised that other swords aren't all here.

Oh wait, she spotted one, though he seems to be indulging himself. Maybe she shouldn't interrupt him, so she observes the scenery just a short distance away.]

[geishake]

[It doesn't take long for Jiroutachi to spy Vietnam and he grins at her, only giving it a moment's thought before gesturing for her to come closer. It wouldn't do for anyone to look so lonely in this beautiful kind of weather.]

There's enough for two!

[hoasen]

[She notices him waving her over, so after looking around and seeing that he really did mean her, she carefully wanders over and sits down next to him.]

Are you sure? I am fine if it is all for yourself.

[geishake]

[Don't you worry, Vietnam, Jiroutachi is in a giving mood. So he picks up the second cup and fills it to the brim with sake, entirely unconcerned by her worries.]

More than certain. It's a beautiful day and some sake is going to make it even brighter, don't you agree?

[hoasen]

[WOW!!! Well, if he doesn't mind, then she won't refuse one cup. He's already went out of his way to pour it anyway.]

I suppose so! I haven't actually experienced this before outside of with family. An outing amongst the cherry blossoms.

[geishake]

[And into your hands the cup goes, Vietnam. Evidently, Jiroutachi has been drinking for a while now because his cheeks are already a little red and his grin a little too wide but he's enjoying himself.

Plus, drinking buddies make everything better!]

There's always a first time for everything. If you want more people around to come and join, you'll probably only have to whistle.

[hoasen]

[Ah yes, he looks drunk. She should drink in moderation then so she would be able to take him home.]

Thank you. [And she takes a sip! All of this is now his fault because he wants more drinking frands.]

You are right. Although I think the rest are busy? So it might just be the two of us.

[Boo. A pout forms on Jiroutachi's lips before he gives Vietnam a begrudging nod. She's right, one team is out for an expedition and the other is fixing whatever hiccup is now being caused by the timelines. And the others are busy with chores.

...Which, really, isn't the reason why Jiroutachi is sitting here, drinking by himself.

I'm sure just the two of us can liven up the citadel, too!

[He looks...left out? Jiroutachi, maybe you should be working! Then again it is according to the Saniwa's instructions. Poor Jiroutachi.

But that's okay, he has some free time, which is nice to experience too.]

Perhaps! I am not the most exciting person around. [She's usually roped along by other spirited individuals anyway.] But I will follow your guidance.

[geishake]

[Oh-hoh? Jiroutachi's grin softens slightly and he flaps a hand to show that Vietnam really shouldn't worry about her not being the most exciting person. Because a) he doubts it and b) he can he exciting enough for both of them if it should come down to it.]

And I will make sure you're in good hands.

[He takes his leading seriously after all.]

[B is true enough, A is SHE IS GOING TO MEET THIS CHALLENGE AND BE EXTRA BORING. Oh well, at least she's feeling comfortable because he's so personable!]

Oh! Then I am grateful to be in your capable hands. I only regret that I never predicted this to happen, otherwise I could've brought some snacks.

[And there she goes, fretting. Even though he's so relaxed!]

Now now.

[Jirou's tone is filled with gentle scolding, he sees what you're doing there, Vietnam. And he doesn't like it. She should be drinking and be merry and not worry about whether or not they have snacks.]

If this is truly bothering you, we can go and see what the kitchen has to offer.

[hoasen]

[He's about just like a mother here! Getting mothered too, ah.]

While I am only slightly bothered, and it is a good idea...[she holds herself nobly!] It would ruin the atmosphere should we leave. It is, how they say, we should savour the moment?

[Atta, girl!]

That's the spirit indeed! [Jiroutachi seems only too happy to raise his cup into Vietnam's direction, smiling widely before bringing it to his lips and sipping at it.

The taste is so rich and full and the warmth rushes through his limbs, making him feel a little lighter. As if he could dance on air.

It's strong alcohol to boot. How is he not hacking up a lung??]

[SHE'S DOING THIS RIGHT YEEAAAH.]

I am glad to be of service. [And she raises her glass just like he does, before she sips again. Well, it's strong, and she's pretty sure that one or two more cups and she might actually start to feel something. Because she's A. Small, B. Female, all of which is the opposite of strong drinker.]

It has such nice flavour. [It still gives that nice warm feeling, perfect to watch the cherry blossoms as they show of their ethereal beauty.]

[Oh? Someone is stronger than she looks and Jiroutachi gives her a thoughtful look. Well, it's only her first sip. It might get too much for her later.

Her comment about the sake makes his eyes light up and he nods along with her words. Someone finally knows how to appreciate good sake!

Especially with this kind of atmosphere and surroundings. The sakura blossoms are so nice to look at and if it weren't too cold for it still, Jiroutachi might be tempted to dip his toes into the lake.]

Doesn't it? The weather really fits the sake. [Shouldn't it be the other way around...]

[YOU BET she's going to be gone soon enough. She is used to drinking the stronger stuff when it comes to going out for casual drinks, which means she isn't deterred by the strong taste, but it doesn't make her tolerance any higher.

Well, with alcohol maybe they would do something that stupid later though. Play around in a cold lake. Hmm.

AND YEAH SHOULDN'T IT BE THE OTHER WAY AROUND.]

Is there a selection process for drinks in certain weather? [SHE'S JOKING.]

[Chase after a certain someone's tigers? Attempt to make onigiri? Attempt to forge their very own sword? The possibilities are endless. Perhaps playing in the lake would be the best option out of them all.

And while Vietnam might be joking, Jiroutachi is not. He's v. serious about his alcohol, alright?]

Of course there is! [He leans in, wide and excited and swaying ever so slightly.] You need to sample everything first, of course. Once you've done that, the flavour and alcohol content would be considered. I personally prefer something sweet for the spring months and that narrows it down!

[hoasen]

[ATTEMPT TO FORGE THEIR OWN SWORD. NO. FINE WE'RE GOING TO THE LAKE.

...she just got a drinking lecture. Ah. That's actually surprising that she was right.

She's not fazed by him leaning in since he's so happy.] I see, so there is a method! So this would be your favourite for the season? [She lifts her cup.]

[geishake]

[Jiroutachi clicks his tongue at her words, looking thoughtful.] My favorite until the cherry trees have ceased to blossom, yes. After that, it will be something else.

[A sword needs to have it's priorities sorted. Even if he likes the flavour a lot right now, variety matters more than that. There are still so many different kinds of sake he hasn't sampled...]

What about you? Do you have a favourite?

[A sage nod as she takes in this piece of information.] Thank you for sharing with me your favourite, then.

[He could've kept it all to himself! But he's a rather nice guy, isn't he? As for her favourite--]

I admit I have not sampled much sake, but my favourite drink is anything with cognac. Unfortunately, I have not organised it seasonally.

[Not sampled much sake?

What a tragedy.

Jiroutachi purses his lips, bringing his cup to his lips as he thinks furiously. He doesn't have much of an alcohol stash anymore, the Saniwa is trying to limit his alcohol intake at least somewhat.

Hmm.]

You will have to come over next time I'm sampling new flavours! [It is the perfect crime.] And perhaps you can bring something with cognac along?

[hoasen]

[RIGHT? HOW DARE THIS WORLD NOT GIVE HER THIS.

Though really, it's just because she didn't feel the need to! She's in no hurry. But Jiroutachi could teach her, since he's already planning it.]

I will, thank you very much for the invitation! [She doesn't know he's stealing this.] I will definitely bring some cognac too. Have you had some before?

Unfortunately, I've not had the pleasure.

[And doesn't someone look sulky about that fact! But if he added more alcohol, especially new kinds which probably aren't cheap, to the shopping list, well. He doesn't want to anger his precious Saniwa after all.

Their sage is already rather indulgent.

Most of the time anyway.

A little more alcohol wouldn't hurt, would it?]

Goodness, then for someone who appreciates drink, I will bring you some. If you promise to drink in moderation and only during special events.

[She's actually jesting, but she doesn't know that he's actually a drunk. But surely he is responsible except for days where he can let loose? There's no saniwa here to warn her about this.]
