[The Citadel is huge, so it's a good thing they have all the time in the world to dick around.
--Well, no, they don't. But the point is, it's a free day. There will be absolutely no work done at all. Unless you want to or something. If you do, you're pretty weird.
The dojo is always open for sparring and practice. If there's any sparring errand you've slacked on, now's the chance to make up! The horse stables are also full of activity, whether the horses are being tended to or rode around-- be careful not to let them trample the fields, though, which is full of rice sprouts and budding cabbage. The lake in front of the saniwa(s)' room has tiny frogs jumping about, and you could catch them in the palm of your hand.
The kitchen is full of food, if you're volunteering to make lunch or have decided that meal time cannot possibly come any later and you simply must prepare something before you die from starvation. While there has been a considerable effort made to make the Citadel look as homely as possible to the swords which come from Japan's past, there's speckles of technology here and there.
The TV room is a good example, with a huge screen sitting on top of a few console systems. Don't break them, you'll only be getting this luxury once. Take turns and play nice. The swords may also find themselves tending the fields with water sprinklers and hoses instead of watering cans, for instance, or heating up some leftover pie in the fridge instead of making another one from scratch since there's technology to preserve food well over a week. The armory and smithy are definitely a little bit more modern than they'd be back in the past, though much is still made by hand-- nothing beats the fine work of a master. Perhaps you'll have a few new friends today, or you want to try creating a cute little soldier spirits todie for you accompany you in battle. Make sure they enter the orb completely, or else it'll turn brown and crack.
Or perhaps you're one of the unlucky swords still stuck in the repair room, sword body still being re-smelted and fixed. Hope the saniwa is good at making you all shiny. If you want to skip all that waiting, perhaps you can try to use a helper token... but they're all in the saniwa's room! Guess you've got to use that Camouflage stat...
But if you truly cannot bear with staying in the Citadel, the time device the saniwa(s) have isn't locked away. You can go on sorties or expeditions to fill your time with something productive.
Just a warning: don't change the past. You won't succeed.
...You could always try, though.]

Hotarumaru is nodded his head, arms still stretched out towards Horikawa. ]
Yes! Now I'm testing out the fruits of labor!
[ And that test is to lift up the wakizashi in front of him. So come over here, Horikawa!! Let him lift you up! ]
no subject
Horikawa gently takes his handkerchief out, moving it to wipe the shorter sword's forehead, cheeks, and neck. He did all that without putting the heavy laundry basket down; and he still has time to look over the oodachi's condition properly. He's satisfied to see that he has no bruises or so, but Hotarumaru needs a bath! ]
Hotarumaru-san, I've already filled the bathtub for you. You should hurry before someone uses it.
no subject
Boo, boo!! He doesn't want to take a bath yet!! Ladies and gentlemen, the older sword out of the two. ]
Not yet...
[ He has to prove his strength first! ]
no subject
[ In favor of being able to use both hands, Horikawa temporarily sets the heavy basket down. Reaching over to the baby sword, he starts massaging his shoulders after securing a gentle grip. It surely will feel good, especially after working out so hard!
Horikawa kneels down as well, in order to match the other sword's eye level. And from that angle, he lets him see his reassuring and encouraging expression. Don't be afraid of the bath! Horikawa's even willing to help bathe the oodachi if it comes down to it... c: ]

His shoulders hunched forward as if to protect himself from that gesture as he lets out a small laugh. ]
T-that feels funny...!
[ Also, hey! He can take a bath by himself! He's pouting now. ]
And I'm not finished yet.
no subject
Those words only encourage the wakizashi to dote further. That's why he reaches to start undoing the other sword's gym clothing. He's got to wash these, too. Ever since they've been given human forms, they need to watch out and care for much more things. Taking care of the bodily needs is only one of them. ]
Yes, yes... Let's save it after your bath, okay? Come on now, take your gloves off.
no subject
[ See, there's actually logic behind his words! Don't just go and undress him! He didn't agree to it yet!
Hotarumaru stares at his gloves and then back at Horikawa and then back at his gloves. Immediately, he puts his hand behind his back and takes a few steps away from him. ]
... You'll have to catch me first!
[ And he breaks off into a run, which is a bad mistake because ahahahaha. His 18 mobility stat compared to Horikawa's 41/50... ]
no subject
[ Well... At least Horikawa is rather young compared to the other swords. He has more than enough energy to keep up with shenanigans like these. Naturally, if he wants to stop the oodachi from running around the dojo... He'll have to chase after him. At the same time, he'll be able to put his foot down; because the other sword did say that he'll follow after being caught. So he doesn't waste time to correct the situation.
Without further wait, Horikawa sprints. It was like a flash of light. That's one of the advantages of being a light sword, meant for silent assassination no less. Within a blink or two, the taller sword is now holding the tiny one in his arms. To prevent Hotarumaru from escaping, he lifts him up, as if he's an energetic puppy. ]
—Okay...! I've caught you!
no subject
[ Of course this would have been the expected result. Horikawa is just way too fast for him. He didn't want to give up just yet. Hotarumaru tries to wiggle his way out of the other's hold, but it's fruitless. It's too hard to escape from. Eventually, he stops struggling and gives in.
A deal is a deal. Horikawa caught him and now... it's time for that bath. ]
O-okay, I'll go to the baths now...!
[ So put him down already!
Originally, he should have been the one to carry you, Horikawa! Not the other way around, and certainly not like this! ]
no subject
[ Horikawa kind of... doesn't want to let go yet. He ends up holding the little sword warmly for a few more seconds. It's only after that did he put the sword down. He nudges the boy downwards so they could properly bow together before leaving the dojo. Proper manners all the time, as usual.
On the way out, he retrieves the heavy basket. Hm... This gives him an idea. Since Hotarumaru is so determined to weight-lift, he can have the other sword carry the basket. It should be pretty decent considering how it weighs. ]
Say, do you want to try carrying this?
no subject
[ He still has the chance to test his strength after all. Hotaru was a little bummed earlier, but he's back to brightening up again. He nods his head eagerly, arms stretched out for the heavy basket. ]
Yes, let me carry it!
[ Well, even if carrying a heavy basket won't probe anything, it's fine. He's helping out a little which is never a bad thing. He's even already tugging at the basket. ]
