VACATION IS WHERE I WANNA BE

☼ BEACH VACATION MEME ☼
Summer begins, and the saniwa's army earns a well deserved vacation. All expenses paid for by their organization, from travel to lodging to food, and yes, even the swim wear and toys. The water is blue, the skies are (mostly) clear, and it's time to have some fun at the beach! Watch out for the jellyfish and KBseagulls.

***Feel free to include some prompts in your top level. If you can't think of any, pick from below for some ideas!**

001.IN THE WATER This is why you're here, right? Take to the water and splash around. Now might be a good time to learn to swim if you don't already. But watch out! Here comes a large wave--!

002.SANDCASTLES This is it... the enemy's stronghold... not! It's a race against the clock to build a castle before the tide comes in. Collect those seashells, fortify your fortress, and don't be a jerk and ruin some else's castle.

003.SUNBATHING or maybe you've opted to sit under the shade of a large umbrella instead. Some times it's good to just sit back, relax, and watch to make sure no one needs to be rescued later. Keep an eye on the tide or you might find yourself getting wet anyway.

004. BEACH ANIMALS There are tiny fish in the tide pools, crabs crawling around, and uwah are those sea turtles?! Tsurumaru, put that octopus down right now. Ouch, did that jellyfish get you? And look, over there! That's a dolphin! You know, dolphins are intelligent creatures and have been known to help people-- WAIT NO ITS A SHARK ITS A SHARK NOT A FRIENDLY FISH IT LOOKS LIKE A DOLPHIN BUT ITS A SHARK.

005.MELON SLICING The organization has been kind enough to provide food and drink as well. They must have felt very clever sending all of those watermelons, though. Really, who needs that many watermelons? It's a competition to see which sword is the True Melonslasher.

006.STORM Those clouds came in so quickly, you barely had a chance to notice. The sky is dark, the rain is pouring down, and the wind is blowing cold. It's time to quickly collect your things and try to find some place dry.

007.KBCGULLS. Oh no, who fed the seagulls? They're circling around like vultures and making swoops at you, trying to steal your food. Hey, wait, that's not even edible! Was it just you or was there an evil glint in that bird's eye just now...?

008.BEACH PARTY. All of those watermelons you sliced earlier are being put to use. The sun is setting, the food is out, and a bonfire is going on the beach. Eat your heart out and dance around the fire. Watch the sunset, look at the stars, this sure is nice, isn't it?

009.WILDCARD. Mix and match. Create your own prompt. Find the dragon king's palace or something.

[ Oh, Yamanbagiri-san! Thank goodness. Kogitsunemaru is happy that someone ended up following the trail of odd sand things, especially because it'd be silly if he threw the bucket and no one was there. ]

It should be. [ He nods happily, stopping his molding to acknowledge the cape-wearing uchigatana with a cheerful smile. ] Did you like what I've been making? The swords, fried tofu, and foxes? [ He's clearly proud of his artistic accomplishments... he's trying his best, you know. ]

[He doesn't want to return to his watery domain... Shouldn't they be looking for Horikawa??

But he's looking at Yamato accusingly, like he chucked that starfish back on purpose with the express intention of getting it stuck to his face. Who knows, maybe he did?? The mind of Yamato is a mysterious and confusing place.]

Because it stuck itself to my face!! I almost died! [What a dang drama queen, good lord. He's touching his face delicately now, checking for any marks.]

I'm not gonna look for that stupid thing if you keep throwing animals around! Why do I even need to say that?!

[They're both concerned about seagulls, but it's not silly if it's for a good reason, right...]

What about the beach house? You can sit in there, right?

[Not ideal if Sayo wants to actually be out on the beach, though...]

[ If Kogitsunemaru knew he was going to be throwing his bucket carelessly at Mikazuki, he would have held onto it and ran to the water himself. Of course he didn't, so he gets up immediately (careful to not squish the fox he was in the middle of making), and bows an apology. ]

Ah, Mikazuki-san! [ Ah, he's so embarrassed! He should have double checked who was approaching... ] Please let me have the bucket back... if you'd like, we could get the water together.

[ Even in his daze where he knows it's rude to stare so looking somewhere else will wash away what uneasiness is showing on his features. Anywhere would most likely be fine, at the sand or even towards the seagulls that hover above them but the faintest of contact is enough to do just that. Glancing down towards the hand that holds onto his own, it's a sinking feeling to him and he has to check to make sure the sand isn't attempting to swallow him up.

To be honest, he doesn't mind this feeling that reminds him of reassurance, to be swallowed whole by this is fine. The tug brings Yamato to move forward along with the other, maybe his hold onto the other is too forward, too much. He shouldn't have grasped his hand but there's nothing telling him it's a bad play on his part. So it's fine? Right. ]

I didn't know there was a path this way.. were you the only one to find it?

[ Not that Yamato isn't aware of his surroundings, he's actually good at making sure everything around him is fine and learning different areas. Since this is a vacation oriented event for him to relax and have fun, he could let down his guard and be content for once his confusion brought upon such a helpful person. Helpful and comforting, are those the words that fit during this.. he thinks so. ]

Huh.. there's other stuff there? Like what? Do you know what they are?

[There is another chuckle and he shakes his head. It's still better than being pampered and treated like a porcelain doll. The little fox won't be getting back that bucket anytime soon.]

It's alright, I'll get it, just keep tending the little ones.

[ Yamato doesn't mind passing on his find to another sword, one with an appreciation and innocence like a child towards these unknown creatures. No one who's like Kashuu and would throw them as far as they could because their skin is slimy. Even if nails ran against their body it'd do nothing to them, they aren't sensitive but just quiet and going along with the flow. ]

Huh.. I think as long as they have water, they should be fine? We could ask others to see what they have to say? .. You're right. [ There's only so many they can have to bring home with them, so with a nod and getting back to his feet. ] Do you think eight would be enough? So there's a pair and no one will feel left out.

[ Doesn't that sound nice? Of course, there's a smile as he hears that Sayo wants to see them at night so he's sure to make it happen. ]

We can see them, I don't think they'd mind us staying out late. We could probably see them in the sea and also the few in our buckets should be able to do the same.

[ The crabs don't seem very receptive to Vietnam's attempts to break the ring of crustacean combat. If crabs could frown, they would. Instead, they'll just snap at her fingers.

Meanwhile, Kogitsunemaru is poking the ever-loving crap out of the one sitting with him in the circle. Poke, poke, poke. He's gently prodding the big one. MAN, IF CRABS COULD FROWN... ]

Threaten? How'd I threaten them? They seem way smarter than horses!

[ Saniwa waited 3000 years for that four hour timer, if Jiji breaks.. I guess say goodbye to them. Every sword that played a big part into Jiji's lifespan going goodbye. ]

Who knows what type of stronghold could be protecting this treasure.

[ Getting their swords would be an easy task, he recalls leaving his in the area where his clothes were. Some others were likely to do the same and it isn't too unknown to see some of them carry their swords at all times. Their blades are sharp enough to cut through the wood of the torch so moving back towards the torches, he grabs one more so that both his hands are full. If the fires go out, he knows they can be re-lit so no metal off their blades (skin off their bones /slaps knee). ]

Do you think the temperatures will drop heavily tonight? If we need to make camp during this mission, I'm sure we'll be alright.

[ Should they bring food? Should they bring something they can sleep in? There's so many unanswered question and God must be wondering why he allowed these two to find a treasure map for fun since they're taking this as seriously as possible. God is slowly closing his clouds on them. ]

Should we also leave a note to the others so they don't think we've ran away or disappeared when we go to retrieve our swords?

[ The crabs are moving in a circle around the little fox sword, clacking their crab claws in apparent aggression. The big crab, the leader, is staring down Kogitsunemaru with its big, intimidating eye stalks.

But Kogi seems pretty okay. He's oblivious to how much he must have irritated the crabs, smiling and being terribly amused by this entire ordeal. It's not like the crabs are going to break him into pieces, even with their collective clawwork. ]

I think I'm making friends! [ He'll reach toward the big one and it'll snap at his fingers, causing him to withdraw his hand quickly. ]

Maybe I'm not. Still, it doesn't hurt to try, right? [ It takes time to grow a friendship! ]

[ Guess it's time to push Horikawa out on a raft and watch him return to his sea people..

It suck itself to his face? There's no way? It's just a star! It couldn't do that? With a shake of his head, he finds that the other is overreacting. When isn't he doing something that involves him or something hurting his person so that he can complain. ]

It couldn't have done that? It didn't do anything when I picked it up.. You're just imagining things, huh? You're looking for an excuse to not come? Don't be a coward, Kiyomitsu!

[ Why is Yamato getting blamed! He's done nothing to him? Kashuu is just imagining things.. like starfishes really hurt people. That baby. ]

You were the one who threw an animal first!! I don't even know where it went and it was a rock that I threw back, a star rock.

[ The marshmallows look rather like very squishy round pillows and lack the golden-brown color at the edges from cooking in the bonfire. Cookie, chocolate, and marshmallow is actually supposed to be chocolate, marshmallow, and something else. That's interesting, but it tastes so good with cookies. Why isn't it normally like that? ]

So it's not usually made with cookies.

[ Yamanbagiri quickly finishes off his s'more, licking his lips after to clean off the melted chocolate and marshmallow stuck to them. ]

The box wobbles at the hit and jolts the gulls up into the air, but they quickly land on another object to continue their barrage of cries. Their eyes seem to glint anger at the continued assault from the swords. Yamanbagiri nearly throws a handful of sand like he's heard his brother talk about in relation to "Kane-san" but stops himself. He doesn't want to throw sand all over someone's food. That defeats the purpose of saving it from the gulls. So more rocks and seashells it is.

One seagull flaps its wings to gain height; it wants to divebomb for food or an attack. It's hard to tell which. ]

( Come on, Kamekichi isn't really asleep though! Some times he wanders around on his own! Some times he has to chomp onto Urashima's sleeve to keep up... Could a sleeping turtle do all of those things? )

Eh? That's all?

( He seriously considers it. Yes, he can see it! )

There are probably a lot of pretty shells down there. Oooh, but maybe we'll find some on the beach too! ( He doesn't know. ) Is this your first time at the beach?

( He seems oblivious to this sensitive scene he's stumbled upon. "Seem" being the keyword here. Of corse he's noticed but he makes a point to not show it right now. He wasn't really sure how Dotanuki would react but now that he's seeing it for himself, it's pretty fun! )

The beach! ( Stating the obvious and just skipping around this rock formation he was spying from to get a closer look. ) I was wonderin` where ya went off to!

[ No. It's stubborn Kogitsunemaru time. He won't frown, but it's certainly a facial expression close to one. And he'll edge closer to Mikazuki, trying to bat the pail away from him. ]

They'll be fine! Just let me have the bucket. [ He has his ways... ]

[ yeah, he's got kashuu's back. shinsengumi swords have to be there for each other, right? their bonds are deeper than the metal they're made of, it's the relationships of between previous masters and their own with the current master...

it's also one of the only reasons why he doesn't destroy kashuu right about now, also because no one else paints nails like he does. horikawa wants tips for later, okay? maybe a lesson? ah, the weather is grinding his nerves... ]

Maybe it'll pass quickly? [ he looks optimistic, but on the inside he feels the quiet urge to give kashuu a good bop.

blame the weather. ]

[ HE'S CHILL, HE'S CHILL. you're right, yamato would be spared the wrath of a wakazashi scorned ~~for now~~. they are allies, shinsengumi and otherwise.

he also drops to his knees, gently pushing sand aside to look for more special shells. there are some nice ones buried, but nothing like the one that apparently doesn't belong to him anymore. UGH. no, he's chill. don't worry. and yamato's offer of sharing some of what he finds is so kind... ah, okay, he'll try not to be upset... ]

[ Oh my god this is not chill.. someone needs to take a nap because they arent chilling out.

This is so stressful, Yamato is trying his best to appease a certain SOMEONE and they just wont chill out.. just calm down. Yamato got this item fair and square!!! ]

[ It isn't long until they're just a few steps away from the sea shore, the various shells that's been brought up because of the oceans waves. They're beautiful to see and with the sun shining on them, it's almost as if they're sparkling. ]

We all should come back to this place more often, it gives such nice and tranquil view. Don't you think?

[ Yamanbagiri looks back on the sand sculptures that lead him to Kogitsunemaru. Now that he knows what they are supposed to be, he can tell by their shape much better. He's still not 100% sure of the sand swords, but he's not going to insult a sword of his renown like that. ]

I didn't expect them on the beach. Most were building castles and defensive structures.

[ Him included, if the ocean hadn't eventually reclaimed his sand citadel. He's still a little upset that his work was so easily destroyed, and he couldn't save it by diverting the water. ]

[Maybe he just snaps awake when he needs to!! Like he has some sort of bizarre turtle sense for danger...

But wow, Urashima is actually satisfied with that flatline of an answer, incredible. What an easy to please kid?!]

It's the first time that counts! [Because traveling by the beaches or going through port towns doesn't count at all, okay.] But I read that there are always tons of pretty shells to find. I guess people make art and jewelry and stuff with them.

[WATCH HIS BACK CAREFULLY OKAY or he'll get got by the weather for sure...

And of course he's always willing to make everyone around him just as fabulous! In fact, there are some bottles of polish tucked away in his stack of Stuff because no one told him you don't have to pack for a beach trip like you're going to live there, apparently. At least that would give Horikawa something to do that might take his mind off of his mild weather-induced irritation...]

Maaaybe. I don't wanna leave so soon, so it better. [A sigh, and he leans back onto his heels. The rain gets one last sour look before Kashuu turns his attention back to Horikawa.]

D'you have any cards or something? We can play while we wait. [HOW EASILY BORED IS HE.]

Nope! It's usually made with these flat cracker things that taste kinda like cinnamon.

[Which aren't bad either - he actually prefers them, since he doesn't like over-the-top sweet things. BUT STILL.]

[Of course Kashuu finds a way to interpret that in the worst possible light. OF COURSE.]

And it totally was an animal. I could feel it moving, y'know! It was right there on my face, so I think I know better than you!

[It's not about cowardice, it's about not getting eaten by sea creatures?! Where's Horikawa to control his people.]

Where did you even get that idea? I didn't throw it at you!

[ Why is he like this, Yamato would't.. Not yet anyway. He hopes that ignoring Kashuu and his lies will help him just a bit. Focusing on the ground, he notices something that's so important that a smile comes to his face as he picks it up. It's the same jelly that was thrown not to long ago, it still looks.. gross as usual but whatever.

Walking over to Kashuu, he presses the jellyfish against the male's face. ]

It's still wet so maybe it'll feel good if you hold it like an ice pack?
