[The Citadel is huge, so it's a good thing they have all the time in the world to dick around.

--Well, no, they don't. But the point is, it's a free day. There will be absolutely no work done at all. Unless you want to or something. If you do, you're pretty weird.

The dojo is always open for sparring and practice. If there's any sparring errand you've slacked on, now's the chance to make up! The horse stables are also full of activity, whether the horses are being tended to or rode around-- be careful not to let them trample the fields, though, which is full of rice sprouts and budding cabbage. The lake in front of the saniwa(s)' room has tiny frogs jumping about, and you could catch them in the palm of your hand.

The kitchen is full of food, if you're volunteering to make lunch or have decided that meal time cannot possibly come any later and you simply must prepare something before you die from starvation. While there has been a considerable effort made to make the Citadel look as homely as possible to the swords which come from Japan's past, there's speckles of technology here and there.

The TV room is a good example, with a huge screen sitting on top of a few console systems. Don't break them, you'll only be getting this luxury once. Take turns and play nice. The swords may also find themselves tending the fields with water sprinklers and hoses instead of watering cans, for instance, or heating up some leftover pie in the fridge instead of making another one from scratch since there's technology to preserve food well over a week. The armory and smithy are definitely a little bit more modern than they'd be back in the past, though much is still made by hand-- nothing beats the fine work of a master. Perhaps you'll have a few new friends today, or you want to try creating a cute little soldier spirits to die for you accompany you in battle. Make sure they enter the orb completely, or else it'll turn brown and crack.

Or perhaps you're one of the unlucky swords still stuck in the repair room, sword body still being re-smelted and fixed. Hope the saniwa is good at making you all shiny. If you want to skip all that waiting, perhaps you can try to use a helper token... but they're all in the saniwa's room! Guess you've got to use that Camouflage stat...

But if you truly cannot bear with staying in the Citadel, the time device the saniwa(s) have isn't locked away. You can go on sorties or expeditions to fill your time with something productive.

Just a warning: don't change the past. You won't succeed.

...You could always try, though.]

[ -What a strange feeling.

The moment their fingers linked together and the riceball was presented in its (slightly deformed) mold, a wave of emotions bubbled inside the older sword. Perhaps it was a sense a pride, accomplishment, and a general peace he felt knowing that the larger sword was right behind him to guide his way.

It was times like these, these simple yet peaceful moments, that Mikazuki had wished they would go on forever.

Yet like time, things kept moving forward and now the older sword was once again on his own, still holding out his work of art. (???)
]

I would be most honored if you were to take the first bite. After all, none of this would have been accomplished without your aid. [ He's holding the riceball out at this point. Palms still clasped together to hold the food in place, as he lifts it to the fox's mouth.

Someone this seems as though Kogitsunemaru had become the taste tester for the prince, in case it were to be poisonous. However, unlike those situations, it was the prince himself whom had made this potentially dangerous meal.

But just look at his smile. With a face like that, there's nothing to worry about, right?

... Right?
]

[...It's not as if he is being given a choice, is it? Not that Kogitsunemaru would have said no, not when Mikazuki is looking so proud of what he created with a little bit of help. Not when he is practically pressing it against Kogitsunemaru's lips and looking at him so expectantly.

So the fox has no choice but to open his mouth and take a bite, hoping his cheeks aren't as warm as they feel..

...

It's a little chewy and too dry, probably from sitting in the bowl for too long. There are clumps just sticking together and Kogitsunemaru has to chew through them thoroughly and the taste of vinegar is rather strong. ...At least Kogitsunemaru hopes that was vinegar. If there was no vinegar involved, he'd be very worried about the source of the taste.

But somehow, the onigiri still tastes good. Maybe it's because Mikazuki was the one to shape it, maybe it's because of the atmosphere. Maybe they added a secret ingredient when neither were looking.

Swallowing the bite, Kogitsunemaru licks his lips before grinning at Mikazuki, reaching up to pluck up the riceball out of Mikazuki's hands, intending to feed Mikazuki the same way he fed Kogitsunemaru.]

Thank you for letting me have the first bite. Here, let me return the favor. It tastes pretty good for a first attempt. [Though nothing will beat fried tofu. Ever.]

[ It was moments like these that could really push a person over the edge. After working so hard to make something, the final outcome is what was most important. Would they like it? Had all of your hard work gone to vain? There were so many questions-

-and none of which Mikazuki seemed to be too concerned with.

He watched patiently, eyes tracing the fox's lip and cheeks as he bit into his food. There seemed to be no initial look of disgust- a small beckon of hope on his side. Yet as he finished and the riceball is soon plucked from his own hands, the older sword lets out a rather hearty chuckle.

Perhaps he wasn't too bad in this whole cooking ordeal (but please no one let him back in here-)
]

To say that it does not suit your tastes will leave me in no state of regret, Kogitsunemaru-san. It is fair to pass proper judgement on it.

[ He's teasing, mostly, but if the other sword truly enjoyed it then... well, he too should do that same.

Wordless, the man then opens his mouth, biting faintly into the riceball which was already beginning to fall apart once again. His first notice as well was how hard the rice was, and in an attempt to hide his chewing, Mikazuki place his fingers over his mouth.

It certainly was not the greatest thing he has ever tasted, but somehow he is able to managed and shallow the rest. Goodness, maybe Kogisunemaru had a bias, he didn't prefer the taste at all-
]

... I fear I am ill-suited for such a task.

[personal profile] kokaji 2015-04-17 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
[It's less of a bias and more the knowledge that there really is worse food out there. Besides, Mikazuki's real first attempts are scattered all around them and compared to that, the onigiri really was an improvement. In shape, if nothing else.

Kogitsunemaru watches Mikazuki take a bite, watches him cover his mouth with his hand, clearly struggling to swallow the food they made together. He can't really be blamed, the taste leaves much to be desired, even if Kogitsunemaru worded his verdict on it as nicely as he could.

Though he hadn't lied when he'd said that the taste was good for a first attempt. At least he thought so.]

It's true that the taste isn't like the onigiri Master provides us with. [There really is no denying that. What Saniwa feeds them is the best food which can be produced inside the kitchen and within their master's skill limits.

Though perhaps it really would be best if this onigiri were to disappear before some other hapless person stumbles upon it and takes a bite.

...

But somehow, Kogitsunemaru doesn't want to throw it away. Not when Mikazuki had looked so proud and excited about his creation, when he'd spent time in the kitchen (and turning it into a disaster zone in the process) trying to make something edible.

The onigiri is gone in two bites and Kogitsunemaru struggles not to pull a face as he chews. He's being a sentimental fool, he knows. It really would have been smarter to simply throw it away.]

...Maybe you should ask Master for help next time?
uchinoke: (( .007 ))

[personal profile] uchinoke 2015-04-21 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Kogitsunemaru... no, what in the world are you doing-

Mikazuki knew full well that they couldn't leave this kitchen in the same position it was in now, much less the poorly made riceballs on the counter. However, he never expected anyone to eat them, either. Now that was certainly a surprise.

Blinking only once, the older sword gazed upon the other as he began his willing invasion on the rest of the food. He could see it- the slight grimace of features or the poking of his cheeks as he attempted to chew. Really, why would you go through all of this for him...

And yet it couldn't stop him from smiling.

It was such a kind gesture, one Mikazuki thought he had no reaction to. But as the pit in his stomach began to bubble and a warmth drew close to his chest, the blade could only watch in pure admiration while the other scarfed down the last of the food. What sort of thing was he trying to prove? Was the fox attempting to earn his favor? Whatever it was, it didn't matter at that point. All Mikazuki knew was that Kogitsunemaru had such a kind heart and even the tiniest things he did seem to nearly send him over the edge.
]

.... Ahaha, perhaps— [ He pauses, allowing his words to drift off for a moment as he approaches the larger sword. His hand lifts up, fingers first brushing against the side of his cheek and the corner side of his jawline before then cupping the side of the fox's face in his palm. ] —... but would it be so unwise to ask for your assistance before our Master's?

[ His smile is calm. Beautiful blue eyes not straying from their course. He remains this way for only a moment though as eyes reposition to Kogitsunemaru's cheek.

This time his thumb moves, lightly moving against the pale skin to remove rice that had stuck against the corner of his lips during his last attempting at eating the rest of the food. Don't mind if that finger just so happens to move across the side of his lip, as well. But only for a moment- a tease of sorts.

Really, some would agree he eats just like an animal...
]

[Ah?

What was Mikazuki doing--

As soon as the fingers brush against his cheek, Kogitsunemaru goes very, very still, back suddenly rigid. He could still feel his chest move, could feel his eyes widen at the unexpected though and his lips part in surprise. But it was buried under the sound of his suddenly pounding heart.

The words barely register but they're there, present and voiced and they only make Kogitsunemaru's heart beat faster. He's surprised Mikazuki can't hear it, it's fluttering inside his chest as if it wants to escape, quietly whispering Mikazuki's name.

The first traces of a flush are creeping up Kogitsunemaru's neck and that's when he can feel himself slamming back into control, forcing it down but it's so, so difficult when Mikazuki is brushing a corn of rice from his face as if it's nothing. When he's looking at him with his ageless, blue eyes in which the moon seems to reflect no matter how you look at them and Kogitsunemaru has to fight to not get lost in that gaze. Unwavering, strong.

And playful.

Kogitsunemaru can feel his lips twitch up into a smile and slowly, he raises a hand to cover the one cupping his cheek so fondly. He slips his fingers between Mikazuki's and presses his palm against the back of Mikazuki's hand. Warmth is radiating off of it and Kogitsunemaru's heart lurches again.

Ever so slightly, he turns his head a little, lips brushing against Mikazuki's palm as he speaks.]

...Unwise, certainly. [There is no denying the battleground they are standing in. And Kogitsunemaru's skills inside the kitchen are barely better than Mikazuki's.] ...But it wouldn't be an unreasonable request by any means.

[The words come out in a low rumble rather than the tone Kogitsunemaru usually uses, wrapping each word snugly within. Briefly, Kogitsunemaru nuzzles his cheek against Mikazuki's palm before he gently lowers it with his own hand.

He doesn't let their fingers part, however.]

[ Mikazuki had expected a reaction, but certainly nothing like this one.

It takes him a moment to register, what with the hand suddenly coming up and cupping his own. He could feel the additional warmth, and it soothes him into complete relaxation. There was something about this closeness, this complete and utter lack of space, that made his heart nearly skip a beat. It was brief- just a little flutter of a moment- but just hearing the words being spoken inside of his palm... those words that were low and direct... well, Mikazuki could have fallen to his knees at that point.

Kogitsunemaru's voice certainly had quite an effect on him. Whether they were simply shooting the breeze, or a moment like this.... why, he could feel his legs wanting to give way with every rumble of a syllable.

He suppressed the feeling with yet another soft chuckle though, this one coming off much lighter than the one before. Everything was just so simple, so perfect. It was almost as if time had completely come to a stand still. There was only two people in the entire world right now- and one of them just so happened to be looking right at him.

He allows his hand to be taken off of the fox's cheek, but Mikazuki doesn't want the moment to stop- he doesn't want this magic he feels to go away just yet.
]

I thank you. Please, do take good care of me. [ Was he ever talking about the food anymore? Were they even in a kitchen? Everything about him seem to fade away and the only thing this old sword could focus on was the burning in the other's eyes. How fondly his lips curled, or even the lines of his jaw. Everything was so perfect, it was if he was gazing upon a prized jewel.

And so, with fingers intertwined ever so gently, Mikazuki sought to claim that precious jewel. He stepped closer at this point, thanking the gods that his hakama was concealing the small tremble in his legs before closing in the distance between them. His body is close, much closer than it was before, and is nearly centimeters from Kogitsunemaru's bare chest.

But he stops. He's not touching. He's simply hovering.

That was until softly, slowly, the man presses his toes against the ground, giving him a tiny leverage of height as his neck arches. Slowly, gracefully, placing one sweet kiss to the fox's cheek where the rice had been just moments ago. So close, so dangerously close.
]

... A gift of gratitude.

[personal profile] kokaji 2015-04-21 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[If Kogitsunemaru's heart had been beating quickly before, it's now beating as if he'd run several kilometers in full-tilt sprint. There is nothing but the sound of it hammering again, Mikazuki's warmth, the rustling of cloth as he leans in to-

Kogitsunemaru blinks.

Blinks again and his heart is lost, utterly and completely, to the crescent shaping Mikazuki's lips. He knows they've both been walking a very fine line the second they both set foot into this kitchen, a tightrope beneath their feet and every breath measured carefully lest they tip over and fall.

Kogitsunemaru's fingers slip through Mikazuki's hold, limp and useless, curling slightly as they fall as if trying to hold onto the warmth clinging to Mikazuki's hand. There is nothing in front of Kogitsunemaru but Mikazuki, with his dark hair and his dark eyes and the perfect shape of his lips-

His gaze drops and lingers. He can't see Mikazuki's lips from here, still so close to his cheek as they are. But he can see Mikazuki's neck, pale and unmarred and with the heartbeat just beneath-

Before he's aware of what he is doing, Kogitsunemaru's hands are curled loosely around Mikazuki's waist, tugging him closer as he lowers his lips to the other sword's pulse.

Relief washes over Kogitsunemaru when he tastes the heartbeat under Mikazuki's skin, fast and loud and real. His lips part a bit as if to capture it, the tip of his tongue pressing against the skin, chasing after it. Kogitsunemaru shivers slightly, eyes closing as he pulls away only to nuzzle his temple against the spot. It's slightly awkward, his back bent a little uncomfortably but Kogitsunemaru doesn't let that deter him, nor does he pay attention to the counter digging into his back as he steps backwards, tugging Mikazuki along.

He exhales softly as he pulls away, moving one hand to the small of Mikazuki's back as he meets the other's eyes. He doesn't know what the feeling in his chest is. Affection, admiration? Desire? It's always Mikazuki's smile which makes something warm blossom in Kogitsunemaru's chest, the hand he raises to his mouth to hide his chuckles, the soft noise of metal when the accessory in his hair moves.

Having given up on fighting the blush and grinning cheekily, Kogitsunemaru moves his lips closer to Mikazuki's, stopping just far enough away to keep them from meeting.]

I would like to return the gift in kind, if you'd permit it.

[ Who would have ever thought, that in ruined kitchen such at this, even certain emotions could come forth?

Though Mikazuki was standing so, so close, he never expected to hear the other's heartbeat so loud- or perhaps it was his own. He could feel the vibrations thumping against his chest, and even the hard ringing into his ears. It was loud, passionate, but somehow comforting. It made everything warm- right. And the repositioning of his hands and body finally allowed the heat to travel onto his pale and perfect features.

It started off as a soft hue, the older sword feeling the warm poking against his cheeks. The way Kogitsunemaru's hands moved from his palms to waist, the feeling of pressure as he was dragged closer- any normal person probably would have fainted at this point. He could feel the sudden breath against his neck, and it instantly sent cold shivers down his spine.

He couldn't move- he could only take in the moment with breathes increasing in pace. His head foggy and dazed. And yet here was Mikazuki, still attempting to maintain a proper appearance while his mind was going crazy. He allowed the closeness- in fact, encouraged it by leaning into the bulky stature.

-And then for his hands. They had remained quite still when Kogitsunemaru had abandoned them for his waist, but he finally attempts to move one. Resting his palm so slightly, so elegantly, on the fox's forearm. It was an inviting gesture, but even more so when the man had fully locked eye contact with the other.

Even this fox knew how to be a gentleman. It amused the tachi, and with the smallest curve of his lips, finally allowed his head to bob only once. Eyes slowly becoming half-lidded.
]

I shall grant you this permission.

[personal profile] kokaji 2015-04-24 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[The words send a quiet shudder through Kogitsunemaru's body and his breath hitches. He had wanted to give Mikazuki an out, the option to step back and gracefully laugh the entire situation off. To smile his amused, gentle little smile before he would ask Kogitsunemaru to help clean up the mess.

Being given permission despite everything fans the soft, glowing embers in Kogitsunemaru's belly and with a low noise, he presses his lips to Mikazuki's.

It's probably the least artful kiss in the entire history of kisses because Kogitsunemaru has no experience to work with. He'd wondered what it feels like, certainly. Sneaked glances at magazines the Saniwa left lying around and listened too hard when people talked about that certain topic. But nothing can compare to the real deal and it's right in front of him despite always seeming so unattainable and-

Mikazuki's lips are warm. Warm and soft and perfect and they fit against Kogitsunemaru's in a way he hasn't expected them to. The heat climbs up Kogitsunemaru's neck, up into his cheeks and a tiny part of him is still able to hope that he doesn't look as flustered as he feels.

Despite having every reason to. Because Mikazuki's fingers are touching his forearm, that dark hair is brushing against Kogitsunemaru's cheeks (and it really is as soft as he thought it would be) and he is close enough to feel the warmth and weight of Mikazuki's body. He's holding the moon's very own gift in his arms and it feels like Kogitsunemaru has finally come home.

What Kogitsunemaru lacks in experience, he makes up with enthusiasm. The kiss is slow and steady but Kogitsunemaru doesn't try to mask the desire, the want running through his veins. Cloth rustles as he moves and his fingers curl slightly, tips digging into the cloth beneath as if holding onto a lifeline as he tugs Mikazuki even closer. He feels like a dying man finding an oasis, a single, beautiful place in a desperate desolation and a soft, needy noise slips past his lips.

He should cup Mikazuki's cheek, guide him into a different angle because Kogitsunemaru's neck is beginning to twinge a little. And it's something he's wanted to do for a very long time, to cup those lovely cheeks and trace the bow of Mikazuki's lips with his finger. To map out what is standing in front of him.

Instead, Kogitsunemaru pulls back a little, breathing a little rough and his gaze half-lidded. His gaze darts all over Mikazuki's face before it settles to meet Mikazuki's eyes, trying to see if the other sword enjoyed the kiss half as much as Kogitsunemaru did. Kogitsunemaru's lips feel tingly and there is a giddy feeling coursing through his veins and he gives Mikazuki an awkward, crooked little half-smile.]

[ This wasn't usual, was it? Accepting an open invitation to something Mikazuki himself had never quite experienced. It had always seemed so thrilling, so magical- the thought of a kiss.

Perhaps it was unusual. He was a weapon, an honored heirloom seen by no one holding a lower class title... and so he was to carry himself as such. Carry himself in such a way that people should gaze upon with respect and beauty. He was to keep a certain facade about himself- never faltering, never slipping up and saying the wrong thing. Perfect. Elegant. And yet...

Warmth.

The first thing the tachi could feel when those eager lips pressed against his own. Mikazuki would have liked to think he was prepared for this- to think that such a proper sword as himself could expect the outcome. Nothing could surprise him anymore; no trick, battle, or turn of events had stumbled this prized possession. But this sensation, this rush of adrenaline had suddenly caught him completely off guard... it was truly captivating.

And then he noticed he was't breathing.

The sword was so shell shocked, so taken aback by these sudden rush of emotions that even his insides were failing to compute with it all. It was so strange, so exhilarating, but... right. It felt right. Every little piece of the puzzle lined up exactly as how it should, and Mikazuki was left awestruck by the pure passion from the slow and steady movements of the fox.

It's alright if he wasn't experienced, or even if he wasn't a good kisser at all- Mikazuki would never have paid mind to it. All he wanted now was to be close to Kogitsunemaru. To feel him and kiss him and kiss him again—

—the kiss. Now running completely on instinct he had pressed into it. Fully taking in the others lips. Exploring the small curves and edges of the shape he had seem to stare at quite often. His head tilts to the side, giving more room for even further exploration as his own face becomes completely enveloped by a blush.

Perhaps a selfish part of him took over at that moment. Perhaps it was alright to break away from that norm of nobility to do something strange... something romantic. But even those moments don't last forever.

When the kiss is finally broken away, Mikazuki himself is left in a breathless state. His hair slightly mangled and the blush on his face unwillingly to give way. All he could do now was stare at those eyes that were looking back at him. Those perfect, beautiful eyes—

—and then a laugh.

It started off as a light bubble in his throat, until it finally grew into a full-fledged chuckle. He was so happy, so spiraling with emotions that laughing was the only think his mind could possibly process at the moment. Surely this was an experience he was never going to forget.

[Gorgeous.

There is no other way to put it. Even if the noise is familiar and old, it seems so marvelous and new at the same time. The slightly mussed hair, the gentle dusting of faint red on Mikazuki's cheeks. The quirk of his lips as they curve upwards and the soft crinkle around his eyes and finally the abandonment of that carefully cradled restraint, letting himself just be. Everything about the other tachi can't ever be put into words.

Mikazuki looks overjoyed and it's something Kogitsunemaru can relate to and is fascinated by.

He can't help it, Mikazuki's laughter is infectious and Kogitsunemarz laughs, the noise low and softer than Mikazuki's. He doesn't want to overpower the sound of Mikazuki's precious, free laughter. On a sheer whim, Kogitsunemaru lowers his forehead to Mikazuki's, a gentle press of reassurance. This happened. The kiss happened. They're standing inside a messy kitchen, door opened wide enough for other swords to see them should they simply walk past.

Kogitsunemaru couldn't care less about them in that instant.

His arms are full of Mikazuki's warmth, learning the shape of Mikazuki's human body and imprinting it onto his memories. The sheer elation he is feeling is difficult to describe, difficult to put into words so Kogitsunemaru doesn't even bother.

Cloth rustles softly as he steals another quick peck from Mikazuki's lips before he draws the other closer until their chests are pressed flush against another. He doesn't know why such a simple gesture as hugging fills him with so much joy but it does, it does fill his chest with nothing but happiness.

He would be content to remain like this for the rest of their eternity.

But all good things must come to an end and slowly, Kogitsunemaru lets go of Mikazuki. His eyes are still fixed onto the other blade's, drawn in by the unusual vulnerability and comforting light.

A sudden wave of pure nostalgia washes over Kogitsunemaru though he can't explain why or how it got there or if it's even supposed to exist at all. But seeing Mikazuki's eyes look so unguarded feels right.

And it only feels right to give in to the urge and finally cup Mikazuki's cheek.

There is wonder in Kogitsunemaru's eyes when his fingers touch Mikazuki's cheek, hesitating for a moment before throwing all caution to the wind and pressing his palm against Mikazuki's cheek, half covering the blush. And the skin is warm, oh so warm just like Mikazuki's lips.

Which Kogitsunemaru kissed not too long ago.

Heat flares up in his own cheeks again because they really did that, didn't they? Kissing. And it was nice, it felt good, it felt... right. Right to be allowed to kiss Mikazuki. Right to feel Mikazuki's reaction, right to watch the sudden flare of passion.

Unconsciously, Kogitsunemaru's thumb begins to trace Mikazuki's cheekbone, his lips parting as if to say something-

But what?]
uchinoke: (( .057 ))

[personal profile] uchinoke 2015-05-03 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[ That laugh. It was pure, compassionate, and something Mikazuki's ear had tingled just from the soft vibrations of the bubbling air leaving the fox's lungs. It was enchanting to say the least— a sound the tachi would forever carve into his memory as precious. The sound of someone who had captivated his heart in ways he had never thought to imagine.

Yet not only had his laugh taken the older sword out from under his feet, but his hugs as well. Each and every touch he had received, no matter the size, had sent him weak to his knees. The warmth of his strong arms, the feeling of his chest, and even now... his forehead. He had thanked whatever god was watching over him at that moment that Kogitsunemaru was holding on him, least he would have fallen over at the very moment.

And then another kiss.

Mikazuki had never wished for them to stop. He gladly welcomed the second one, no matter how quick it may have been. Pressing his body fully into the other sword at this point. Giving himself to him, embracing within the layers of fabric and displaced rice.

However, when he was finally released, Mikazuki had little time to react before the hand was cupped lightly at his cheek. As if they could get anymore red by this point, he could feel the sides of his ears warm. But he didn't act surprised. No, instead his eyes held a look resembling the fondest emotion. He feels safe here, tucked within the fox's hands and tracing fingers. Oh, what Mikazuki would have given to remain like this. To staring into the other's eyes and hug and kiss forever and forever, but—

—he moves his hand now. Two delicate and slender fingers reaching up and pressing against the other's lips. Those lips whom he had claimed just moments ago. He wanted to feel them again, to study every centimeter and corner he possibly could. To make them his own. ... But maybe that was for another time.
]

... Perhaps— [ He finally spoke. His voice was raspy and odd. Almost as if he hadn't spoken in ages. The laughing should have helped, he thought, at least to make it seem as though he was composing himself. But who would he possibly hide that from? He felt so exposed, so open into the dark cornered he thought to have locked away. And yet there was Kogitsunemaru. The one who had opened all of those gates with such ease Mikazuki could have never seen it coming.

But it was a breakdown he didn't seem to mind. In fact, he welcomed the invasion. For Kogitsunemaru he would allow himself to break away from the mold of nobility. To allow himself to open up and perhaps do things unfitting for a one of the upper class. What could have caused this break of tradition? This unfolding of the norm and stepping into a territory he knew he was forbidden from entering.

Was this... love?
] —we should clean up this mess.

[personal profile] kokaji 2015-05-06 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[The tone of Mikazuki's voice makes Kogitsunemaru let out a soft, frail noise but everything about him seems to quiver, like a fox ready to pounce on their prey. The raspiness he hadn't expected but there is something about it which makes him want to curl around Mikazuki protectively, rub his cheek against the other tachi's just to hear him laugh breathlessly and in that same, foreign and familiar raspy tone. To feel his heartbeat and his chest moving as he breathes. To feel Mikazuki's life.

The fingers, light and slender and made of hard, cold steel, receive some attention. Kogitsunemaru can't not pay attention to them, tantalizing as they are. Kogitsunemaru ignored Mikazuki's suggestion for now, his tongue sneaking out to steal a quick lick, followed by a quick kiss and then-

Kogitsunemaru opens his mouth just enough to take two fingers into his mouth up to the first knuckle. It's barely anything at all but Kogitsunemaru catches Mikazuki's eyes and smirks around the digits.

Really, who is he to resist an offering like that? Carefully but firmly, he wraps his fingers around Mikazuki's wrist to hold the hand in place as he nips at the fingertips, sucking and licking and teasing. It feels weird and unusual and right, very, very right.

All Kogitsunemaru knows is that he wants to be closer to Mikazuki. It's a fire burning in his chest and every crackle and every flame seems to be dedicated to Mikazuki, to the light in his eyes and the sound of his laughter and steel working beneath it all. To the way he says Kogitsunemaru's name, to the precious and rare moments where Mikazuki allows himself to simply be.

Kogitsunemaru tugs at the wrist until the fingers slip out with a wet pop and his heart is hammering nervously in his chest as he leans in to kiss Mikazuki's palm. Then he lets his hands fall, both of them, as he steps to the side to look for a cloth to clean the counters with.

Over his shoulder, he shoots Mikazuki a breathless, impish grin.]

You're right. We should clean up this mess. Here, you should clean the counters. I'll take care of the mess on the ground.

[It's not because Kogitsunemaru doesn't want Mikazuki's clothes to get dirty. (Perhaps it is, in part, because someone will have to get the mess out of Mikazuki's clothes and that sounds like a pain) It's easier to hid how own blush when looking at the floor and when Mikazuki is focused on other things. Entirely selfish, the suggestion is.

He holds out the cloth to Mikazuki, kneeling down already to check the other cupboards for more cleaning utensils.]

[ Oh.

Oh.

That was— this is— Kogitsunemaru what are you doing.

It had taken only a moment for Mikazuki to fully register the lick, finding the sensation to be rather odd but... not entirely a bad thing. It wasn't until the moment that the fox had taken hold of his wrist, slipping his delicate fingers into his mouth that made the tachi react in an unsettle way.

His whole body flinches, rattled with an unfamiliar action he had never thought to experience, and more properly react to. His initial instinct at first was to pull away, feeling the sharp tips of Kogitsunemaru's teeth against his flesh and the strange warmth of his saliva. It was all very strange, very undignified, but for some reason he couldn't move his arm. It has been completely frozen, as the shock had settled in and emotions had heightened.

He couldn't explain this feeling— these heated cheeks and shivers— but he did know that he didn't want the feeling to go away. To think that smallest and strangest things could make Mikazuki's body react in ways he had never thought possible.

This fox, surely he was trouble.

Nnn...

[ Mikazuki is utterly breathless. He, one of the greatest swords in Japan. He, branded among the most beautiful. He, whom has been completely and utterly captivated by the ways of a little fox. The sound that came out of his mouth was just as undignified as his reactions, but he couldn't find himself to hide them no matter how much he would suppress. This in turn left to the diversion of his eyes from the other once the kiss had been placed upon his palm. ]

Y... yes, of course. Certainly.

[ Perhaps it was a good thing for the both of them that Kogitsunemaru had suggested for them to clean up different areas of the kitchen. Mikazuki needed time against to compose himself, as rattled and wordless as he may be. He had accepted the cloth that the fox had handed over but... his hand may have lingered on the other's for more than necessary.

Everything felt so right, so good, he didn't want it to stop. The mess in the kitchen be damned.

He relented a moment later though, gently fingers sliding away from the other as his attention finally turns to the side. He'll be wiping the counter at this point, turning circles in the same spot multiple times. The sword's head was certainly elsewhere, and it was going to take a lot longer than expected for this place to return to its former glory.
