A - Citadel

[ There's no Sorties to go on, the daily chores have been done, which means that finally there's some down time to enjoy. And what better way, than to mess with one of the cool devices their master Saniwa has brought back from the future alongside them??

Shishiou has officially hijacked the tablet.

It takes a lot of messing around with it to get it to work right and all that, but once he figures it out he'll be flipping quickly through the album of photos in order to find pictures of the swords...and promptly use the doodle option to put all sorts of bizarre, ridiculous scribbles on them: eye patches, moustaches, moles, uzumaki, you name it. And the moment he sees you, he's going to hold it up with a grin. ]

Hey hey! Check this out! Isn't it great?? The great Shishiou-sama has decorated your portrait for you, hehe~

B - Stables

[ Unlike other swords, Shishiou isn't actually that opposed to working with the horses. He's not a huge fan of them (aside from how tasty they look), but the old man had been fond of them and he doesn't mind them all that much. He'd prefer to ride one into battle instead of brushing out their fur and cleaning the stocks, but it's his turn.

It is just totally, completely boring compared to the thrill of battle. That's all. Which is why he leans heavily on his pitchfork rather than use it for its intended purpose. ]

I guess it beats field work... A man hunt'd be way more fun! Naa, Shiroage? [ ...Yes, he might just be talking to the horse. Instead of whoever his partner is for this chore today, because clearly a war horse will understand his want for excitement and thrills. Clearly. ]

C - Fieldwork

[ So remember how he said he preferred taking care of the horses to this? Shishiou meant it, because no matter how careful he is (or tries to be), it's just dirty work. There's mud on his feet, mud on his pants, mud on his hands, his arms, his shirt--even though he'd rolled up the sleeves. Pretty much the only places it isn't is his face and hair. Which is nice, but it's still a dang pain in the ass. He's going to have to soak to get it out from under his nails.

If it were the grit and dirt granted from a heady battle it'd be one thing, but from pulling weeds and collecting vegetables? The thrill is just not there. But the dirt is. The dirt will always be there.

But hey. If he's working he might as well enjoy some of the fruits of his labour right?? No one will miss him is he takes a quick break to the river nearby and has a few chilled cucumbers right?

Right?? ]

[Aizen is so into these new human developments, technology is the best? So are video games?

When he walks past, he notices Shishiou hold up the tablet and his jaw drops. You can draw on that too?!]

That's...that's amazing!!!

[He's losing it.]

[Not a soul would miss him if they were all working hard, maybe! No one would miss him sneaking off if they were stressing and straining over their own assigned tasks. But what about the punks (or perhaps just one punk, singular) who aren't? THEY NOTICE.

That is to say, Kashuu notices because of course he does. He works at the pace of a snail out in the fields, getting about a quarter of his assigned work done because his main goal is to avoid getting his hakama splattered with mud, rather than to fill his basket with vegetables and fruits. So during one of his (many) breaks, he turns his attention away from the ground to wipe some sweat from his brow and ah, look, there goes Shishiou! And if he's going down by the river, that's clearly a go-ahead for anyone else to do the same, right? Which is exactly what he does, after glancing around to see if anyone else has looked up. Nope, nope - the coast seems clear! Excellent.

So off Kashuu bops, skirting just shy of the muddiest slopes of the riverbank and calling out only when he's close enough to not draw anyone else's attention over.]

Y'know... If you're that hungry, you can just go back to the kitchen for a snack.

[ Shishiou's definitely not expecting to have been noticed, so when he does jump a little and turn around, it's with a cucumber half-devoured hanging from his mouth. Probably not the most dignified appearance for someone with "King" in their name, but he's a beast. So it is totally okay.

That is about the limit to his surprise though once he recognizes the voice and sees who called him out. He'd be more worried if it were one of the more steadfast swords, but Kashuu? He's the biggest slacker there is when it comes to chores. You can be Shishiou's noticed how little dirt there is on him compared to himself. ]

Haa?? Why would I go all the way back? That's a big trip and there's still work to do. [ As if he isn't slacking right now and eating the snacks for later...herp. ]

[It's tactical slacking!! Slacking just enough to maintain an air of productivity while not actually being all that productive takes a lot of patience and practice. It's a very fine art...

Just like the fine art of finding the perfect moments to slack off and have a snack!! Which Kashuu obviously won't call him out on, because that would mean he'd have to go back to work, too. No one wants that! ...Or Kashuu sure doesn't, at least.]

It's not that far away. [Rather, the farther away it is, the longer the break can be?? Who'd look that gift horse in the mouth.] I mean, doesn't that taste pretty plain, anyway?

What're talking about?? Chilled cucumber on a hot day is the best! [ Sure it could be improved with some shouyu, but as a refresher? Second-to-none after hard work. In between? He's not done yet so he will have to return, technically.

Just not this second. ]

How'd you manage to get this far into the day without getting any dirt on you anyway?? You always come back spotless...

It is possible to harvest stuff without like, rolling around in the mud.

[He says that, but is it really?? Not even his knees are that dirty, and considering he should have been spending plenty of time kneeling down to pull up the root vegetables, that's probably all the sign anyone needs that this punk is a dang slacker.

But his hakama will still need a wash anyway because no amount of dirt is acceptable, so he doesn't fuss too badly as he delicately seats himself close to where Shishiou is sitting. Unrequested snacking company!]

Eh, but it really is hot out here today, isn't it? Aruji said this summer was supposed to have a heat wave or something. [Whatever that means. It sounds unpleasant...]

[ Sounds like a tsunami of heat or something if Shishiou had to guess. Not really that appealing when he had mid-length sleeves and pants to work in instead of a hakama or something more breezy, but it's also true that worst case scenario he'd have no issues just shrugging down to his haragake to finish up. ]

Sounds unpleasant...hehe. You gonna survive out here? You might actually break a sweat Kiyomitsu~

[Shishou is smart where it counts... He won't be one of the swords passing out from heat stroke because they refused to dress properly for the weather.

His nose wrinkles in response to that tease, though, and he waves a hand dismissively.]

Duh! A little heat's nothing too bad. [As long as one doesn't move strenuously, anyway...] Besides, there's a lot of shade down here and over near the orchard. It'll be easy to cool off if we really need to, right?

Hehe! Already thinking of running away huh? [ Not to insinuate Kashuu would retreat or be cowardly when it counts as in battle, but everything else? Oh yeah. He's probably one of the most reluctant to get down and dirty and do a good day's work. ]

[Battle is pretty much the only thing he absolutely won't retreat from, it's true... Unless someone baits him into sticking around, because that's equally easy. Sometimes he just has to prove himself!]

It's taking a break, not running away! Kinda like what you're doing right now.

[A POINTED LOOK. If things come down to it, he can always say Shishiou was the one who ran first, okay.]

I'm not running away from anything! Look! [ Shishiou holds up his muddy-duddy hands as if they are key evidence to his noble and brave deeds in the fields, recoiling only a smidge before he's showing his proof in earnest.

Pay no attention to the fact that he touched the cucumber he just ate with those first. ]

I've been working so hard I've got dirt everywhere!
