A - Citadel

[ There's no Sorties to go on, the daily chores have been done, which means that finally there's some down time to enjoy. And what better way, than to mess with one of the cool devices their master Saniwa has brought back from the future alongside them??

Shishiou has officially hijacked the tablet.

It takes a lot of messing around with it to get it to work right and all that, but once he figures it out he'll be flipping quickly through the album of photos in order to find pictures of the swords...and promptly use the doodle option to put all sorts of bizarre, ridiculous scribbles on them: eye patches, moustaches, moles, uzumaki, you name it. And the moment he sees you, he's going to hold it up with a grin. ]

B - Stables

[ Unlike other swords, Shishiou isn't actually that opposed to working with the horses. He's not a huge fan of them (aside from how tasty they look), but the old man had been fond of them and he doesn't mind them all that much. He'd prefer to ride one into battle instead of brushing out their fur and cleaning the stocks, but it's his turn.

It is just totally, completely boring compared to the thrill of battle. That's all. Which is why he leans heavily on his pitchfork rather than use it for its intended purpose. ]

I guess it beats field work... A man hunt'd be way more fun! Naa, Shiroage? [ ...Yes, he might just be talking to the horse. Instead of whoever his partner is for this chore today, because clearly a war horse will understand his want for excitement and thrills. Clearly. ]

C - Fieldwork

[ So remember how he said he preferred taking care of the horses to this? Shishiou meant it, because no matter how careful he is (or tries to be), it's just dirty work. There's mud on his feet, mud on his pants, mud on his hands, his arms, his shirt--even though he'd rolled up the sleeves. Pretty much the only places it isn't is his face and hair. Which is nice, but it's still a dang pain in the ass. He's going to have to soak to get it out from under his nails.

If it were the grit and dirt granted from a heady battle it'd be one thing, but from pulling weeds and collecting vegetables? The thrill is just not there. But the dirt is. The dirt will always be there.

But hey. If he's working he might as well enjoy some of the fruits of his labour right?? No one will miss him is he takes a quick break to the river nearby and has a few chilled cucumbers right?

Right?? ]

[ Look sometimes warriors get hungry and they don't have time to wash their hands between chores okay. It's totally understandable and normal! ]

Who'd lock who anywhere huh?? You should respect your elders! [ He might not be as old as gramps, but Shishiou's still up there in terms of age. And Kashuu should not lock him in the bath. ]

[Shishiou has such a sprightly and youthful spirit that it's hard to remember he's a grandpa sometimes...! Or, more accurately, Kashuu is just one of those rude kids these days who walks all over the lawns of the elderly.]

Learn how to bathe right and maybe I will!

[Now it's just cemented, apparently. Even if Shishiou is perfectly clean, Kashuu will just always remember him as the dirty lion who eats cucumbers he's rolled in the dirt.]

[ A grandpa almost as old as Jiji! But don't ever tell him that, it'll be depressing. Also, get off his lawn. ]

I do bathe right! I wash behind my ears and everything! [ He is a goddess in that he does a very basic which does indeed include washing behind his ears, and nothing more detailed. Kashuu's Princess Level will always be higher than his, alas. ]

[NEVER. His lawn now, time to post a Do Not Trespass sign and kick Grandpa 2 off.]

I dunno, it's kind of hard to believe you now...

[It's probably a little hard to tell if Kashuu is being serious or if he's just being a pissant this time. He's practically the embodiment of the Princess and the Pea, so who knows!! Maybe he really does think Shishiou can't bathe himself just because he doesn't pause to wash his hands after fieldwork! (No, he is indeed just being a pissant.)]

Maybe I should leave out extra soap in the baths for you as a reminder or something.

[ One of the prettiest pissants the Saniwa's brought to life, but admittedly right now Shishiou's just wondering how satisfying it would be to drop a bucket of mud on Kashuu's head.

[NOPE, NOPE, he's standing up again and this time he's not settling back down!! He's ready to bolt! He's ready to defend his honor!! Or at least his work clothes, which are still just begging to be ruined.]

Kaaaashuuuuu-kun~ [ Look ooout, this is Shishiou, standing up with his hands held up ominously in front of him, fingers wiggling and everything. Is he joking? Is he serious?

Run Kashuu. Do it. Lion grandpa wants to give chase. ]

[HE'LL BE ABLE TO GIVE CHASE because like hell is Kashuu going to wait and see if he's just joking... Trust no lion.]

I'm serious, Shishiou—!!

[DOWN THE BANK HE SLIDES, heading away from the muddiest parts and over toward the drier patches of riverbed.]

Haven't you ever heard you shouldn't run from a predator?? It just makes us wanna give chase--! [ And never mind that Kashuu's stride and his are practically the same thanks to his itty bitty Tachi self. HE CAN WORK THESE LEGS, and he isn't afraid to get dirty doing it.

Shishiou is hot on his heels, not bothering to take the care the Uchigatana will with avoid unnecessary scuffing or sullying of his clothes. He's all in. ]

[THIS ISN'T WHAT HE BARGAINED FOR. He just wanted to take a pleasant and entirely well-deserved break by the river! He didn't even want any of Shishiou's cucumbers!! Why is fortune frowning down upon him so mightily today!?]

Go chase someone else!!

[This is practically screamed back over his shoulder as he runs... Ah, some of the swords still working out in the field have likely heard but considering it's Kashuu doing the screaming, help probably won't be on the way. Talk about the boy who cried wolf... (Or the sword who screamed about mud and bugs one too many times.)

Where is he even going?! Farther away from the fields and the river, that's for sure.]

[ He is going to easier ground to run on, and that is what is important here!! What he lacks in height and long legs Shishiou makes up in energy and pure spunk, grinning to the nines and a mile wide. He isn't going to answer Kashuu with a reason. He's just going to make a growl and click his teeth, just like his manly manly namesake.

Also he maybe wants to tease and freak the Uchigatana out a little more, especially with his Nue nearly as worked up as he is now, fur all ruffled up and maw wide.

THEY WILL CHASE NO ONE ELSE. Kashuu is their prey today. ]

[HE DIDN'T SIGN UP FOR THIS. He especially didn't sign up for the nue?! At least with Shishiou, there's the understanding that he won't actually be eaten (probably). But that shady thing he carries around clearly can't be trusted...

Anyway, Kashuu rounds a corner, ends up nearly slipping in the muck lining the riverbank, and has to scramble frantically to right himself so he doesn't get caught and MURDERED. Or whatever it is sword-lions do with their prey. Thrown into the muddiest part of the river, probably, and it'd be well-deserved.]

Look what you made me do!

[HE'S GOT MUD ON HIS HAKAMA NOW! His pristine, ultra-clean hakama!!]

[ Oh Kashuu, you worry about your hakama... When the beast of the bunch is headed right your way, cares not for that slippery ground when it comes to rounding the corner and simply goes into a slide with one hand braced in that horrible, icky (glorious) mud.

Be prepared to screech and make every harpy proud, Kashuu, because before he even rights himself completely?? ]

Hehehe, head's up!! [ He's whipping it at the shorter's face just like the supports do their catapults.

But hey, he hears mud masks in the future are a thing. ]

[The harpies are going to come for him at this rate, since he's clearly one of their lost kin...

Which is to say, he does let out an incredibly hellish scream as soon as the mud collides with his face. It only gets half, at least! The result of a well-timed attempt at dodging...! But he sure could have done better, and now he's suffering for it. His struggle is truly eternal.]

SHISHIOU—!!

[His pitch also definitely bounces upward about halfway through that scream, like he's somehow found even more indignation, agitation and aggravation to spare. Incredible!]

I can't believe you! [HE'S SO BETRAYED.]

[ He's helping beautify you!! Facials and mud masks are totally things that exist...even if Shishou doesn't know that. All he knows is that the expression on Kashuu's face? That screech just now? P r i c e l e s s. It's going to be worth the gut he busts laughing at it as he doubles over, arms wrapped around his stomach. ]

Hehehehe--!! That look really suits you...! [ BWAHAHAHA ]

[This punkass sword. Not only did he single-handedly deliver true suffering to Kashuu, but now he's laughing about it!? INCREDIBLE. He's never been so betrayed by a comrade before...]

You... [Is he gonna cry?? He looks like he might cry for a second--

But no, that's just Kashuu's "I'm about to pitch a fit" face, and in the next second, he's LAUNCHING FORWARD with the intent of tackling Shishiou over. It's easier to not care about mud when you're already kind of covered in it, okay.]

[ WELL there was that time where he got chipped and subsequently thrown away... ]

Bring it--!! [ If Shishiou sounds entirely too pleased about Kashuu's impromptu tackle, that's because he most certainly is, and he's ready to receive him when the Uchigatana's body collides with his, knocking him back into the muck.

But he's already sort of prepared for it, using the momentum to try and turn them as they hit the ground and pin the other. DOING NALA AND SIMBA PROUD and all. ]

[Look okay if he doesn't talk about it it never happened, right?? There is no war in Ba Sing Se.

This is the exact opposite of what he wanted, though!! Granted, it's not like he should have expected anything else from a dumb move like this... But no, somehow he's surprised! So maybe it's more like Simba and Zazu, considering that's about how much indignant shrieking Kashuu is doing right now. He's managing to hold his own surprisingly well, though! It's almost like there's a dirty scrapper under all those layers of screeching about being clean and pretty!

But in the end, even a teeny tiny tachi like Shishiou is enough to overpower the general strength and stamina of a(n equally small, honestly) uchigatana like Kashuu. His attempts at pinning will eventually be a success, and Kashuu sure will try to kick him in the shins for it.]

Get off, dammit!!

[ Kick away, little diva. Kick away, Shishiou's too busy preening over his victory like a lion over its kill, all teeth and grins with his hands braced into Kashuu's shoulders to pin him down. Even the Nue is feeling particularly triumphant, swishing restlessly on the blonde's shoulder. ]

Hehe~~~ Shoulda known better than to run from a lion Kashuu! [ As if that totally excuses his behaviour and justifies this entire procession of events. ]
