Citadel Meme
![]() |
001. Newcomer. Smithed or obtained from battle, a new sword has arrived at the citadel. Are you getting the citadel ready for them? With enough swords in the citadel, it might be hard to figure out which room to fit their bed in. Or maybe you're the new arrival being greeted and touring your new home. Hey, what's your favorite food? The saniwa will want to prepare a special meal for you. 002. Returning. You've just returned from a mission. Ideally, you're raining cherry blossoms as soon as you set foot on the citadel's grounds but that isn't always the case. Some times swords come home tired to the bone. Some times, swords don't return at all... 003. Leaving. That sure is your name on the wall telling you to get ready for a mission. Pack up your things, say your good byes, and gather up your team mates. Hey, where are you going anyway? Is it somewhere familiar? Or somewhere you've never been to before? Regardless, this is an order so gather up your courage and steel yourself for the task at hand. 004. Guests. It doesn't happen often but sometimes guests from other citadels come. Some come from generous citadels-- allowed to reunite with old friends and family for a short time. Others are here purely for business which means it's time to brush up in the practice hall and show these punks who has the best citadel. 005. Chores. It isn't all fight fight fight at the citadel. While people are away at the front, the people back home have their roles to fill too. Feed the horses, tend the gardens, make sure everything is in one piece so the squads have a home to return too. ... Did you just break another screen door? 006. Dueling. To assess the saniwa, inter-citadel matches are held regularly. This is different from regular friendlies, though-- here, you're fighting to be the very best. Scores are awarded and... what are those grades even for? Well, it goes on the saniwa's record so it must be important... 007. Special exercise. No, no, no! Something isn't right but what is it? Are you absolutely useless on a team? Or maybe your performance has plateaued and regular training exercises aren't working? Well, it's time to pack up and go on a special training exercise. But what is it? Wrestling bears! Standing under waterfalls! Sitting in a room until you talk out whatever is wrong?! Or maybe we came into this with low expectations and the goal is to just not to die. 008. Attacked. This is a war, though, and it's foolish to expect the battles to be fought only on the frontlines. The enemy is becoming more bold and there are reports of citadels being attacked. Are you prepared for the attack because it's happening right now. Or is this one of the first citadels and you're completely caught off guard. 009. Fallen. What happens when a citadel falls? When a saniwa dies and the swords are left on their own until a new saniwa arrives? The citadel is abandoned, broken swords can be found in the garden. Will a new saniwa ever come home? 010. Wildcard. Choose your own adventure! |

casually touches all over this meme LET'S GO 2
This is one of those times.
And as he and the rest of the team shuffle their way back into the Citadel, various other swords perking up to acknowledge their return, he wants nothing more than to go to his room, curl up on his futon, and sleep for at least a week.
See, this last foray into the past had been especially difficult and tiring. Fight after fight with almost no breathing time, the enemies growing stronger and at a faster rate than they had expected...
Not to mention his blade, sheathed safely away, aches. He's not horribly damaged, not enough that it's an emergency, but Kanesada definitely doesn't feel great. He's not at 100% and he's most assuredly not presentable to anyone, saniwa or sword alike.
It's why he goes straight to his room, hoping not too many people see how awful and dirty he is, and gingerly lays down his vessel before dropping the rest of the way to the bed. He'll wash later. He'll change clothes later. He'll go in for repairs later. For now, it's time to rest.
He doesn't even have the strength to slide his door closed.]

Yamanbagiri Kunihiro
Akashi Kuniyuki
Namazuo Toushirou
"I got burnt and part of my memories are missing, but I won't look back at the past!"
[Namazuo's a lucky sword, when it comes down to it. He's had his share of trials and tribulations, but unlike so many other swords, he'd ended up in a museum with some of his close friends nearby. He's a genuine Toushirou, surrounded by a loving family, and even if he remembers the pain of being burnt, it's easy enough to keep smiling and move forward. This is a fresh start, and he's eager to meet his comrades and learn about their way of life here.
Just one problem--having a physical body is weird.]
Oops! [Bump.] Ouch-- [crash] Ahh, walking is so strange, isn't it?
[someone help him before he breaks everything in this room]
Chores
[Do I even have to write anything for this THERE ARE HORSES LET'S GO]
Fallen
[It's never been this quiet.
His breathing is too loud, he thinks, as he drags himself down the steps, into the garden. Or what's left of it, anyway. Scraps of steel are scattered everywhere, amongst broken beams and trampled flowers. He's heavily damaged, but he's alive, and tears stream down his face as he clutches his vessel close to his body. He leaves a trail of blood behind him, but it's impossible to tell, with all the stains and burns on the wreckage of their once-idyllic home.]
Hello...?
[He can't be the last one. Please, please, don't let him be the last one.]

I'm hurt

Yamato no Kami Yasusada
[Because option 1 is basically Hanamaru...
But Yamato isn't a newcomer anymore, and he hasn't been for a while. The flow of history has been leading up to this, and he's been on enough sorties by now that he's seen other swords struggling with the past firsthand. It's never a pretty sight, but the wealth of personal experience, it seems, is greater than the risk of a corrupted sword.
Still, it's something of a shock to see his name up there, when the time comes.
July 1864. Kyoto. Ikedaya.
There isn't much time to think about it. The team needs to meet up, to prepare, to establish a plan of action. But Yamato just stands there, staring at the wall, and it doesn't look like he's going to be moving anytime soon.]
Special Exercise
Oraaaa!!!
[So, Yamato is not the best teammate ever.
No one is surprised.
But look, he's more than willing to wrestle a bear if it means he wins?! IS THAT EVEN THE CHALLENGE no, no it isn't but that sure is Yams charging at a bear anyway...]
Attacked
[They'd been foolish, he thinks--or he will think, when there's time for that. They should've expected a direct attack. They should've planned and prepared, and with the swords they have around, you'd think even an ambush would've been easily dealt with.
But the enemy has spared no energy on this, clearly intent on wiping them out in one fell stroke. They're the strongest enemies yet, and with the element of surprise, the Citadel's already suffering heavy damages.
Yamato's uninjured, but only so far, and he's getting exhausted fast. But he's running as fast as his feet can carry him, searching for the leader, cutting down any enemies in his path. If he sees a friend in trouble, he'll dive in with an Oraaaaa!, but mostly, he's hunting for the biggest and strongest enemy of all.]
i hope you dont mind a really late tag but i had to; special exercise
