[Perhaps you're going out on a walk during this nice, sunny day. Or maybe you're returning from working in the fields or tending to the horses. Important work to be done, or simply relaxing for the swords who aren't sent out onto a sortie or an expedition. However one may choose to fill their time at this point, they would have to walk past this tree at one point.
Until a persimmon dropped onto the ground near them. Or if they're unlucky, it dropped onto their head.]
...Ah.
[Sitting up on one of the tree branch above them, looking down with an awkward and mildly sheepish expression, is Sayo.]
...Sorry. I dropped it by accident.

...Ah.
[Sitting up on one of the tree branch above them, looking down with an awkward and mildly sheepish expression, is Sayo.]
...Sorry. I dropped it by accident.

A persimmon fruit bounced off his head and landed on the ground.
The elderly sword blinks in confusion and kneels down to pick up the fruit. It's when he hears Sayo speak from up in the tree and he looks at his direction.]
It's alright, Sayo. Do you need help collecting them?
no subject
He blinks at the offer, before he slowly nods.]
If you don't mind. I think it's a good time to pick them now.
[So he's thinking of gathering them and bringing them to the kitchens.]
no subject
[In a way it's actually good that the fruit landed on his head and not on one of the other swords, he takes such things pretty easy. And it's not like he did it on purpose.
Mikazuki grabs the edges of his blue kimono, holding it away from himself.]
Just drop them off in my direction.
no subject
He looks down at the kimono, acting as a makeshift basket, and nods.]
Got it.
[Carefully, Sayo stands up on the branch and hold another one to keep himself steady. Once he's set, he slowly moves forward and pick off a persimmon. Once it's in his hands, he drops it in Mikazuki's direction. Let's see how this goes.]
no subject
Please be careful up there.
[He doesn't want to get in trouble with Souza and Kousetsu or their saniwa should something happen. Not that he would let it come this far.
When the first fruit goes his direction he takes a small step forward... caught!]
One point for us!
no subject
[Because Sayo knows what might happen if he falls. He might get hurt and even sit out of fighting for a while. An injured tantou is useless on the battlefield.
He nods after confirming that, yes, Mikazuki did catch the fruit. As long he doesn't drop them too fast or too far from Mikazuki, they can get a decent amount of persimmon. A little encouraged by this, Sayo picks out more persimmon and drops them towards Mikazuki's kimono.]

Then Sayo speaks, and his cheeks flush with color. That's embarrassing, so much for keeping his cool!]
I... what are you doing up there?!
[Picking fruit, obviously.]
no subject
...Picking persimmon.
[Obviously. These ones look quite good and so clearly, he must try getting them.]
no subject
[If it were Imanotsurugi, he wouldn't even have to ask. Jumping never really seemed like it was Sayo's thing, though... Midare eyes the tree branches a little warily. Is it even safe to climb?]
no subject
[Sayo definitely did climb up this tree by himself. The front of his garb is a little dirty from his attempts earlier.]
no subject
[It's one thing to manage to get the branches, but there's not anything to grab onto down below.]

[The persimmon fruit that landed in front of her feet made Japan stop. She had been taking a walk through the gardens, she didn't think the persimmons were that ripe yet. But then she heard an apology coming from above and she looked up.]
... It's alright.
[She picks up the fruit that has been dropped and looks back up at Sayo.]
I would like to return it to you.
/waves
...You can have it. [Wait, it touched the ground.] Or I can pick a fresh one for you.
/waves back
Thank you, this one is good. But you wanted one yourself, didn't you?
(/w\)
Yes. There's some growing on this tree, so I climbed.
[Maybe it'd be easier if he ask one of the taller swords for help. Or even go to the kitchens to check their supplies. But there's something nice about picking out his own fruit.]
/feeds persimmon
[The last thing she wants is for him to end up hurt.]
You like these fruits a lot, don't you?
[Japan has often seen him carrying one with him. Had he told her before then she would have given him a tool to pick fruit with from the ground. Like these sticks with a basket attached to them.]

...Sayo. Are you alright? [ Nevermind he just got hit on the head with a freakin persimmon. Bruh how did you even get up there. Kousetsu is always one to worry so don't mind him. His blank expression now harbors something of concern. ]
no subject
...Yes, I am. Are you alright, Kousetsu?
[It's a persimmon. It's impossible for it to hurt swords like them. But seeing his older brother did make him feel a bit embarrassed and worried.]
no subject
...Yes I am fine. [ He'll tilt his head inquiringly again. ]
Do you need any assistance? [ Since it kinda looks like you got your hands full there. But he knows that Sayo is more than capable of doing things on his own. Kousetsu is just a worrywort sometimes. ]
no subject
...Yes. I need a basket. If I get down...I might drop them.
[The persimmons. Sure, he can wash them later. But he doesn't want them to get too bruised.]
no subject
Bonk. Something fell on his head.
Oh. Now, a persimmon bounced into the basket. Where'd it come from? Is there someone in the tree? He looks up.
Is that a blue persimmon? How unripe or ripe is that thing? ---
Blank stare.
Kogi, please. That's not a food. That's a tantou. It's Sayo Samonji. After taking a second to collect himself, he decides to tease the little one in the tree after a chuckle. ]
Sayo, are you weaponizing fruit?
no subject
Sayo blinks at Kogitsunemaru's question. Unfortunately, he's not used to teasing, so the small tantou takes it seriously and shakes his head.]
No, I'm not. Doing that would be a waste.
[After experiencing poverty and famine in the past, the thought of wasting food via using them as weapons is almost alarming for him.]
no subject
You're right. How silly of me.
[ Smooth like butter. ]
Do you need me to get a basket for you? Or help getting down, if you were just getting one for yourself?
[ He didn't want to be the one to report a tantou falling from a tree and hurting himself somehow. What would his brothers think? Not to mention, one persimmon sat alone in the basket of soybeans. ]
no subject
But alas, such a thing is not Sayo's forte, despite one of his masters being a man of the arts.
Sayo looks down at Kogitsunemaru and
after flipping for a scenarionods.]Yes, I would like a basket.
[Because all of these persimmons look great. Sayo's been thinking of getting a bunch and bringing them to the kitchens later. And maybe share them? Like with his brothers and the saniwa...]
no subject
... so many carrots were eaten.
Oh right. The basket. ]
I'll be right back, Sayo. Don't go anywhere.
[ He leaves his soybeans (and the sad persimmon) underneath Sayo's spot in the tree. Worst case scenario, maybe they'd catch him if he were to fall... well, Kogi might get back in time. The fields aren't that far away.
Hey, don't tantou always land on their feet? Like cats?](no subject)
