[The Citadel is huge, so it's a good thing they have all the time in the world to dick around.
--Well, no, they don't. But the point is, it's a free day. There will be absolutely no work done at all. Unless you want to or something. If you do, you're pretty weird.
The dojo is always open for sparring and practice. If there's any sparring errand you've slacked on, now's the chance to make up! The horse stables are also full of activity, whether the horses are being tended to or rode around-- be careful not to let them trample the fields, though, which is full of rice sprouts and budding cabbage. The lake in front of the saniwa(s)' room has tiny frogs jumping about, and you could catch them in the palm of your hand.
The kitchen is full of food, if you're volunteering to make lunch or have decided that meal time cannot possibly come any later and you simply must prepare something before you die from starvation. While there has been a considerable effort made to make the Citadel look as homely as possible to the swords which come from Japan's past, there's speckles of technology here and there.
The TV room is a good example, with a huge screen sitting on top of a few console systems. Don't break them, you'll only be getting this luxury once. Take turns and play nice. The swords may also find themselves tending the fields with water sprinklers and hoses instead of watering cans, for instance, or heating up some leftover pie in the fridge instead of making another one from scratch since there's technology to preserve food well over a week. The armory and smithy are definitely a little bit more modern than they'd be back in the past, though much is still made by hand-- nothing beats the fine work of a master. Perhaps you'll have a few new friends today, or you want to try creating a cute little soldier spirits todie for you accompany you in battle. Make sure they enter the orb completely, or else it'll turn brown and crack.
Or perhaps you're one of the unlucky swords still stuck in the repair room, sword body still being re-smelted and fixed. Hope the saniwa is good at making you all shiny. If you want to skip all that waiting, perhaps you can try to use a helper token... but they're all in the saniwa's room! Guess you've got to use that Camouflage stat...
But if you truly cannot bear with staying in the Citadel, the time device the saniwa(s) have isn't locked away. You can go on sorties or expeditions to fill your time with something productive.
Just a warning: don't change the past. You won't succeed.

...This.
Plus, Kogitsunemaru is pretty confident in his skills so he scoops up some rice without further ado and pats it together between his hands.]
I don't know my way around the kitchen. But it's riceballs, what could possibly go-
[Splat.
Another rice soldier down for the count. Its soul departs to the land of dead riceballs. It was a brave one.
For a few seconds, Kogitsunemaru's ears droop and he stares at the mess between his fingers. There is no way he's as bad at this as Mikazuki is. He will not let that stand. A frown marrs Kogitsunemaru's face as he scoops up more rice, more carefully this time as he goes about patting it together.
It takes him a bit but the result is a) vaguely riceball shaped and b) not on the ground. Grinning proudly, he presents it to Mikazuki.]
Here.
no subject
Perhaps these old swords still had a lot to learn.
But he'll remain rather quiet throughout the process aside from fits of chuckles here and there- he wouldn't want to mess up Kogitsunemaru's concentration. He did seem rather serious about this... ]
I can see it now! Ah ha, yes indeed. You have produced a fine onigiri. It would seem your skills have well surpassed my own.
[ ...... Well, until Mikazuki goes to take it and the riceball just
kind of dissolves in his hand. Leaving only a vague resemblance to what it should have been. This is a sad day. ]
Ahaha! These are quite stubborn, are they not?
no subject
disasternature in the kitchen and knows no mercy but this can't stand.Trying to fight a smile, what used to be a riceball gets dumped back into the bowl of rice. That's probably not sanitary but who cares, there is a battle to fight and a war to win.
If he had sleeves, Kogitsunemaru would be pushing them up to his elbows, instead he reaches back to make sure the ribbon keeping his hair together isn't going to slip out. Once he's certain it isn't going anywhere, he looks at Mikazuki with a fierce grin, clearly amused by the overall situation.]
Stubborn, yes. But I'm not letting myself get beaten by rice.
no subject
Yet here is Mikazuki- smiling and watching the other sword with the most endearing look he could possibly give anyone. Really, he was so sweet to try and take his time to help the other sword out. Either that or he was simply just trying to prove himself- both of the options were cute regardless of how you looked at them.
So this old sword will take a seat in the back, curiously peeking over Kogitsuemaru's shoulder as he placed the rice back into the bowl.
Really, this seemed like an exciting adventure! Mikazuki couldn't help but laugh again. ]
That would be very much unlike you if you were to let such a thing occur. [ He's smiling brighter now, the tip of his voice ringing with playfulness. ]
I have the utmost faith that you will prevail.
no subject
It seems that Mikazuki has decided against direct intervention and truly, that is fine with Kogitsunemaru. If his smile is anything to go by, Mikazuki is enjoying the show the other sword is putting on and Kogitsunemaru can't help but let his grin widen. As long as Mikazuki isn't actually laughing at him, he's not going to be offended.
Especially if Mikazuki keeps praising him like this.]
Leave it to me.
[Kogitsunemaru grins over his shoulder before scooping up more rice. He is going to train this army and get it under control. Even if the first few soldiers end up being... poorly equipped. And misshapen. And look less like triangle shapes and more like flat, round stones.]
no subject
Even in a hectic environment such as the battlefield and even now this kitchen, he knew that he would rely on him. ... With growing results, too! ]
Your persistence has proven to show grand results. Perhaps I should learn from you. [ Another laugh, this time a little more heartfelt than the last.
He moves to his side at this point, attempting to roll up his large sleeves.
C'mon, hand him one. He can do it, too! ]
no subject
uselessincompetent outside of battles.Kogitsunemaru eyes the half rolled up sleeves, clearly doubting the effectiveness of the endeavor. Especially since one is slipping down again already. Does Mikazuki even dress himself in the mornings or does have have someone help him with that, too?
Somewhat amused, Kogitsunemaru shakes his head.]
Hold on for a minute.
[There is no hesitation in his movements as he reaches out to roll up the sleeves properly as much as he can. And what a task it is, Mikazuki's sleeves are too long for this to be an easy task and Kogitsunemaru frowns. Maybe they'll stay put if he...]
...or five.
[And with that, Kogitsunemaru pads outside the kitchen, rice covered hands and all, to fetch a tasuki. It doesn't take him long to find one and he returns to the kitchen with a triumphant grin.]
Round two.
no subject
However, the sudden jerk of movements towards the older sword leaves Mikazuki to raise his brows slightly in a small form of surprise. Yet once realizing what the other was trying to do, the amusement across his face only heightens.
He extends his arms a little at this point, somewhat assisting Kogitsunemaru in rolling up the sleeves, yet to only little avail. Perhaps he should have changed into something a little lighter before attempting to make a meal... but even then that would require the assistance of another. Truly, what would he do without the others- ]
Ahahaha! I will be certain to wear something more appreciate next time. [ Hopefully there... won't be a next time. But he says this just as the other exits the room, returning only a few moments later with the tasuki.
He smiles- ever so fondly as he once again allows his arms to be extended. Fully allowing the fox completely control over his next actions. ]
Thank you, my good friend.
no subject
[Are a little clumsy. Hopeless. Lost. When it comes to clothes.]
...Don't have a lot of practise. [Kogitsunemaru is trying to be tactful, mindful of Mikazuki's status as treasure but he can't keep some of the amusement out of his voice. It does make sense for the other sword to be this spoiled so Kogitsunemaru moves in to fix the tasuki into place. Down and around it goes, tucking the long, elaborate sleeves out of sight and into place.
There. That should do it.
Satisfied with his work, Kogitsunemaru steps back and nods. Scooping up some rice and passing it on to Mikazuki, Kogitsunemaru makes sure the other sword can see his hands as he slowly shapes the onigiri.
...Though if Mikazuki plans to make this a regular event, Kogitsunemaru will be on the other side of the stronghold. This is already messy enough as it is, what if Mikazuki plans to make something even more complicated?]
Watch my hands and I'll show you how useful this tiny fox is.
no subject
Instead he begins to laugh, as heartfelt as always, before nodding his head. ]
It is true I lack experience where others have gained. Only time shall be my deciding factor, I suppose.
[ Aka yes I know I suck but I am willing to try and get better OKAY.
And that's where this whole rice business will fall into play. He gratefully accepts the rice from the fox, absorbing his words as he leans a little forward- watching as the other begins to mold the rice. Mikazuki attempts to copy, his own eyes peeling more towards Kogitsunemaru's hands than his own. Truly, he finds this entire experience to be amusing. ]
I am beginning to understand your form. Perhaps I should have been more gentle towards the rice. [ another laugh, this time his eyes focusing on his own pile of moosh. ] It was unwise of me to not consider their feelings.
no subject
...As if that will even happen. But it's part of his charm and Kogitsunemaru chuckles quietly as they work on shaping the riceballs. At least Mikazuki isn't squeezing the rice too strongly anymore but whoever has to clean up this mess is going to have a lot to do.]
It's important to treat rice the way your would treat another person. Gentle but stern in all the right places? [Kogitsunemaru is able to say that with a straight face but soon, he grins, unable and unwilling to continue the joke.
He pauses what he's doing and watches Mikazuki's hands for a bit before putting his own riceball down and holding out his hands.] May I guide you?
no subject
He'll just stick to Kogi helping him.Yet dressing himself aside, he'll take what he can in baby steps, starting with his not-so-simple meal.
Mikazuki seems keen on his work, only allowing his eyes to slide over to Kogisunemaru's work to observe further hand movement, then it was back to his own. However, hearing the fox's comment brings forth a loud burst of laughter. This resulting in the tiniest, only barely noticeable, hue of pink poking against the tips of his ears. Oh goodness, that was a little unexpected-
He'll duck his face down a little from the comment. ]
Ahaha! To think even rice needed such care. You certainly do have a strong way with words, Kogitsunemaru-san.
[ But what could he possibly expect from this fox? Nothing less, of course.
But comments aside, Mikazuki is only mildly surprise when the other sword puts down his own rice. He smiles, quietly nodding his head in a sort of silence agreence before moving both of his hands over for the sword's control. ]
Please, I am in your care.
no subject
And the ducking of his head lets Kogitsunemaru see the pink tips of his ears.
Seems like Mikazuki really got into the joke and Kogitsunemaru smiles as he moves to place his hands on Mikazuki's. Then he pauses, realizing it won't be the same from this angle and steps to stand next to the other sword.
Cloth rustles a little as he places his hands on Mikazuki's. The fingers beneath his own are a little slimmer, a little shorter, the palm a little less broad. But nothing about these hands is fragile.
Nothing about Mikazuki is fragile, is it?
Finally, Kogitsunemaru moves Mikazuki's hands for him, bending fingers and shaping the rice between them.]
Feel the pressure? Try and keep it like this. If you feel a side beginning to crumble, focus on pushing it back towards the main mass. [His lips quirk up.] Like guiding your sword.
no subject
However today was a very different kind of battlefield, and a fight that he himself certainly could not win alone.
Mikazuki warmly welcomes the fox into his presence, signaling no sign of discomfort when he reaches for his hands. Ah yes, Kogitsunemaru was much larger than himself, and the way his hands quickly swam over his own allowed a look of fondness only he himself could see. To think that even these hands could be so gentle... the hands which grip so tightly to a sword.
He's still chuckling though, allowing himself to become fully submissive as the sword could feel his fingers begin to move on their own. Slowly but surely the riceball in his hands begins to take on a proper form, but there was still something about Mikazuki's hand movements that were slow- almost hesitant in the matter.
Was he stalling?
Or perhaps he was simply lost in the moment, his mind clouded with thoughts far greater than the molding of his meal. So instead of saying anything, the sword will just smile. He feels so peaceful at this moment, content, and even with the destruction of the kitchen around him, Mikazuki is able to find himself laughing as he had always done before. ]
Knowing that you have put it in terms I may understand, this does not seem to be as daunting of a task. [ he pauses only briefly, gently allowing a few of his fingers to brush over Kogitsunemaru's ] You are a fine teacher.
no subject
And it feels good to be able to do this and in that instant, Kogitsunemaru adds another trickle to the steady stream of gratitude to feels whenever he thinks about Saniwa. It was their master who gave them this form and allowed Kogitsunemaru to interact with Mikazuki like this.
To laugh, to joke. To touch him and feel the warmth of his hands.
Does Mikazuki seem reluctant to let go of his hands or is he just imagining it? When Kogitsunemaru replies to Mikazuki, it's in a slow, measured but pleased tone.
Somehow, being complimented by Mikazuki makes his feel lighter.]
You make teaching very easy since you catch on quickly. [For an old man.] Plus, little old me is full of surprises.
[There is some hesitation before Kogitsunemaru twines their fingers together and turns their palms up, showing Mikazuki the finished onigiri. It's still crooked and there are some dents in the back but it's not falling apart. It's as solid and real as either of them and that's what makes Kogitsunemaru smile.
Very slowly, he pulls his hands away from Mikazuki and takes a small step to the side, glancing at the other sword as he does. Mikazuki looks so relaxed and the corners of his mouth are still quirked up a little and he seems so pleased with the moment that Kogitsunemaru quickly lets his gaze dart towards the riceball again.]
Looks good to me.
no subject
The moment their fingers linked together and the riceball was presented in its (slightly deformed) mold, a wave of emotions bubbled inside the older sword. Perhaps it was a sense a pride, accomplishment, and a general peace he felt knowing that the larger sword was right behind him to guide his way.
It was times like these, these simple yet peaceful moments, that Mikazuki had wished they would go on forever.
Yet like time, things kept moving forward and now the older sword was once again on his own, still holding out his work of art. (???) ]
I would be most honored if you were to take the first bite. After all, none of this would have been accomplished without your aid. [ He's holding the riceball out at this point. Palms still clasped together to hold the food in place, as he lifts it to the fox's mouth.
Someone this seems as though Kogitsunemaru had become the taste tester for the prince, in case it were to be poisonous. However, unlike those situations, it was the prince himself whom had made this
potentially dangerousmeal. But just look at his smile. With a face like that, there's nothing to worry about, right?
... Right? ]
no subject
So the fox has no choice but to open his mouth and take a bite, hoping his cheeks aren't as warm as they feel..
...
It's a little chewy and too dry, probably from sitting in the bowl for too long. There are clumps just sticking together and Kogitsunemaru has to chew through them thoroughly and the taste of vinegar is rather strong. ...At least Kogitsunemaru hopes that was vinegar. If there was no vinegar involved, he'd be very worried about the source of the taste.
But somehow, the onigiri still tastes good. Maybe it's because Mikazuki was the one to shape it, maybe it's because of the atmosphere. Maybe they added a secret ingredient when neither were looking.
Swallowing the bite, Kogitsunemaru licks his lips before grinning at Mikazuki, reaching up to pluck up the riceball out of Mikazuki's hands, intending to feed Mikazuki the same way he fed Kogitsunemaru.]
Thank you for letting me have the first bite. Here, let me return the favor. It tastes pretty good for a first attempt. [Though nothing will beat fried tofu. Ever.]
no subject
-and none of which Mikazuki seemed to be too concerned with.
He watched patiently, eyes tracing the fox's lip and cheeks as he bit into his food. There seemed to be no initial look of disgust- a small beckon of hope on his side. Yet as he finished and the riceball is soon plucked from his own hands, the older sword lets out a rather hearty chuckle.
Perhaps he wasn't too bad in this whole cooking ordeal (but please no one let him back in here-) ]
To say that it does not suit your tastes will leave me in no state of regret, Kogitsunemaru-san. It is fair to pass proper judgement on it.
[ He's teasing, mostly, but if the other sword truly enjoyed it then... well, he too should do that same.
Wordless, the man then opens his mouth, biting faintly into the riceball which was already beginning to fall apart once again. His first notice as well was how hard the rice was, and in an attempt to hide his chewing, Mikazuki place his fingers over his mouth.
It certainly was not the greatest thing he has ever tasted, but somehow he is able to managed and shallow the rest. Goodness, maybe Kogisunemaru had a bias, he didn't prefer the taste at all- ]
... I fear I am ill-suited for such a task.
no subject
Kogitsunemaru watches Mikazuki take a bite, watches him cover his mouth with his hand, clearly struggling to swallow the food they made together. He can't really be blamed, the taste leaves much to be desired, even if Kogitsunemaru worded his verdict on it as nicely as he could.
Though he hadn't lied when he'd said that the taste was good for a first attempt. At least he thought so.]
It's true that the taste isn't like the onigiri Master provides us with. [There really is no denying that. What Saniwa feeds them is the best food which can be produced inside the kitchen and within their master's skill limits.
Though perhaps it really would be best if this onigiri were to disappear before some other hapless person stumbles upon it and takes a bite.
...
But somehow, Kogitsunemaru doesn't want to throw it away. Not when Mikazuki had looked so proud and excited about his creation, when he'd spent time in the kitchen (and turning it into a disaster zone in the process) trying to make something edible.
The onigiri is gone in two bites and Kogitsunemaru struggles not to pull a face as he chews. He's being a sentimental fool, he knows. It really would have been smarter to simply throw it away.]
...Maybe you should ask Master for help next time?
no subject
Mikazuki knew full well that they couldn't leave this kitchen in the same position it was in now, much less the poorly made riceballs on the counter. However, he never expected anyone to eat them, either. Now that was certainly a surprise.
Blinking only once, the older sword gazed upon the other as he began his willing invasion on the rest of the food. He could see it- the slight grimace of features or the poking of his cheeks as he attempted to chew. Really, why would you go through all of this for him...
And yet it couldn't stop him from smiling.
It was such a kind gesture, one Mikazuki thought he had no reaction to. But as the pit in his stomach began to bubble and a warmth drew close to his chest, the blade could only watch in pure admiration while the other scarfed down the last of the food. What sort of thing was he trying to prove? Was the fox attempting to earn his favor? Whatever it was, it didn't matter at that point. All Mikazuki knew was that Kogitsunemaru had such a kind heart and even the tiniest things he did seem to nearly send him over the edge. ]
.... Ahaha, perhaps— [ He pauses, allowing his words to drift off for a moment as he approaches the larger sword. His hand lifts up, fingers first brushing against the side of his cheek and the corner side of his jawline before then cupping the side of the fox's face in his palm. ] —... but would it be so unwise to ask for your assistance before our Master's?
[ His smile is calm. Beautiful blue eyes not straying from their course. He remains this way for only a moment though as eyes reposition to Kogitsunemaru's cheek.
This time his thumb moves, lightly moving against the pale skin to remove rice that had stuck against the corner of his lips during his last attempting at eating the rest of the food. Don't mind if that finger just so happens to move across the side of his lip, as well. But only for a moment- a tease of sorts.
Really, some would agree he eats just like an animal... ]
no subject
What was Mikazuki doing--
As soon as the fingers brush against his cheek, Kogitsunemaru goes very, very still, back suddenly rigid. He could still feel his chest move, could feel his eyes widen at the unexpected though and his lips part in surprise. But it was buried under the sound of his suddenly pounding heart.
The words barely register but they're there, present and voiced and they only make Kogitsunemaru's heart beat faster. He's surprised Mikazuki can't hear it, it's fluttering inside his chest as if it wants to escape, quietly whispering Mikazuki's name.
The first traces of a flush are creeping up Kogitsunemaru's neck and that's when he can feel himself slamming back into control, forcing it down but it's so, so difficult when Mikazuki is brushing a corn of rice from his face as if it's nothing. When he's looking at him with his ageless, blue eyes in which the moon seems to reflect no matter how you look at them and Kogitsunemaru has to fight to not get lost in that gaze. Unwavering, strong.
And playful.
Kogitsunemaru can feel his lips twitch up into a smile and slowly, he raises a hand to cover the one cupping his cheek so fondly. He slips his fingers between Mikazuki's and presses his palm against the back of Mikazuki's hand. Warmth is radiating off of it and Kogitsunemaru's heart lurches again.
Ever so slightly, he turns his head a little, lips brushing against Mikazuki's palm as he speaks.]
...Unwise, certainly. [There is no denying the battleground they are standing in. And Kogitsunemaru's skills inside the kitchen are barely better than Mikazuki's.] ...But it wouldn't be an unreasonable request by any means.
[The words come out in a low rumble rather than the tone Kogitsunemaru usually uses, wrapping each word snugly within. Briefly, Kogitsunemaru nuzzles his cheek against Mikazuki's palm before he gently lowers it with his own hand.
He doesn't let their fingers part, however.]
no subject
It takes him a moment to register, what with the hand suddenly coming up and cupping his own. He could feel the additional warmth, and it soothes him into complete relaxation. There was something about this closeness, this complete and utter lack of space, that made his heart nearly skip a beat. It was brief- just a little flutter of a moment- but just hearing the words being spoken inside of his palm... those words that were low and direct... well, Mikazuki could have fallen to his knees at that point.
Kogitsunemaru's voice certainly had quite an effect on him. Whether they were simply shooting the breeze, or a moment like this.... why, he could feel his legs wanting to give way with every rumble of a syllable.
He suppressed the feeling with yet another soft chuckle though, this one coming off much lighter than the one before. Everything was just so simple, so perfect. It was almost as if time had completely come to a stand still. There was only two people in the entire world right now- and one of them just so happened to be looking right at him.
He allows his hand to be taken off of the fox's cheek, but Mikazuki doesn't want the moment to stop- he doesn't want this magic he feels to go away just yet. ]
I thank you. Please, do take good care of me. [ Was he ever talking about the food anymore? Were they even in a kitchen? Everything about him seem to fade away and the only thing this old sword could focus on was the burning in the other's eyes. How fondly his lips curled, or even the lines of his jaw. Everything was so perfect, it was if he was gazing upon a prized jewel.
And so, with fingers intertwined ever so gently, Mikazuki sought to claim that precious jewel. He stepped closer at this point, thanking the gods that his hakama was concealing the small tremble in his legs before closing in the distance between them. His body is close, much closer than it was before, and is nearly centimeters from Kogitsunemaru's bare chest.
But he stops. He's not touching. He's simply hovering.
That was until softly, slowly, the man presses his toes against the ground, giving him a tiny leverage of height as his neck arches. Slowly, gracefully, placing one sweet kiss to the fox's cheek where the rice had been just moments ago. So close, so dangerously close. ]
... A gift of gratitude.
no subject
Kogitsunemaru blinks.
Blinks again and his heart is lost, utterly and completely, to the crescent shaping Mikazuki's lips. He knows they've both been walking a very fine line the second they both set foot into this kitchen, a tightrope beneath their feet and every breath measured carefully lest they tip over and fall.
Kogitsunemaru's fingers slip through Mikazuki's hold, limp and useless, curling slightly as they fall as if trying to hold onto the warmth clinging to Mikazuki's hand. There is nothing in front of Kogitsunemaru but Mikazuki, with his dark hair and his dark eyes and the perfect shape of his lips-
His gaze drops and lingers. He can't see Mikazuki's lips from here, still so close to his cheek as they are. But he can see Mikazuki's neck, pale and unmarred and with the heartbeat just beneath-
Before he's aware of what he is doing, Kogitsunemaru's hands are curled loosely around Mikazuki's waist, tugging him closer as he lowers his lips to the other sword's pulse.
Relief washes over Kogitsunemaru when he tastes the heartbeat under Mikazuki's skin, fast and loud and real. His lips part a bit as if to capture it, the tip of his tongue pressing against the skin, chasing after it. Kogitsunemaru shivers slightly, eyes closing as he pulls away only to nuzzle his temple against the spot. It's slightly awkward, his back bent a little uncomfortably but Kogitsunemaru doesn't let that deter him, nor does he pay attention to the counter digging into his back as he steps backwards, tugging Mikazuki along.
He exhales softly as he pulls away, moving one hand to the small of Mikazuki's back as he meets the other's eyes. He doesn't know what the feeling in his chest is. Affection, admiration? Desire? It's always Mikazuki's smile which makes something warm blossom in Kogitsunemaru's chest, the hand he raises to his mouth to hide his chuckles, the soft noise of metal when the accessory in his hair moves.
Having given up on fighting the blush and grinning cheekily, Kogitsunemaru moves his lips closer to Mikazuki's, stopping just far enough away to keep them from meeting.]
I would like to return the gift in kind, if you'd permit it.
no subject
Though Mikazuki was standing so, so close, he never expected to hear the other's heartbeat so loud- or perhaps it was his own. He could feel the vibrations thumping against his chest, and even the hard ringing into his ears. It was loud, passionate, but somehow comforting. It made everything warm- right. And the repositioning of his hands and body finally allowed the heat to travel onto his pale and perfect features.
It started off as a soft hue, the older sword feeling the warm poking against his cheeks. The way Kogitsunemaru's hands moved from his palms to waist, the feeling of pressure as he was dragged closer- any normal person probably would have fainted at this point. He could feel the sudden breath against his neck, and it instantly sent cold shivers down his spine.
He couldn't move- he could only take in the moment with breathes increasing in pace. His head foggy and dazed. And yet here was Mikazuki, still attempting to maintain a proper appearance while his mind was going crazy. He allowed the closeness- in fact, encouraged it by leaning into the bulky stature.
-And then for his hands. They had remained quite still when Kogitsunemaru had abandoned them for his waist, but he finally attempts to move one. Resting his palm so slightly, so elegantly, on the fox's forearm. It was an inviting gesture, but even more so when the man had fully locked eye contact with the other.
Even this fox knew how to be a gentleman. It amused the tachi, and with the smallest curve of his lips, finally allowed his head to bob only once. Eyes slowly becoming half-lidded. ]
I shall grant you this permission.
no subject
Being given permission despite everything fans the soft, glowing embers in Kogitsunemaru's belly and with a low noise, he presses his lips to Mikazuki's.
It's probably the least artful kiss in the entire history of kisses because Kogitsunemaru has no experience to work with. He'd wondered what it feels like, certainly. Sneaked glances at magazines the Saniwa left lying around and listened too hard when people talked about that certain topic. But nothing can compare to the real deal and it's right in front of him despite always seeming so unattainable and-
Mikazuki's lips are warm. Warm and soft and perfect and they fit against Kogitsunemaru's in a way he hasn't expected them to. The heat climbs up Kogitsunemaru's neck, up into his cheeks and a tiny part of him is still able to hope that he doesn't look as flustered as he feels.
Despite having every reason to. Because Mikazuki's fingers are touching his forearm, that dark hair is brushing against Kogitsunemaru's cheeks (and it really is as soft as he thought it would be) and he is close enough to feel the warmth and weight of Mikazuki's body. He's holding the moon's very own gift in his arms and it feels like Kogitsunemaru has finally come home.
What Kogitsunemaru lacks in experience, he makes up with enthusiasm. The kiss is slow and steady but Kogitsunemaru doesn't try to mask the desire, the want running through his veins. Cloth rustles as he moves and his fingers curl slightly, tips digging into the cloth beneath as if holding onto a lifeline as he tugs Mikazuki even closer. He feels like a dying man finding an oasis, a single, beautiful place in a desperate desolation and a soft, needy noise slips past his lips.
He should cup Mikazuki's cheek, guide him into a different angle because Kogitsunemaru's neck is beginning to twinge a little. And it's something he's wanted to do for a very long time, to cup those lovely cheeks and trace the bow of Mikazuki's lips with his finger. To map out what is standing in front of him.
Instead, Kogitsunemaru pulls back a little, breathing a little rough and his gaze half-lidded. His gaze darts all over Mikazuki's face before it settles to meet Mikazuki's eyes, trying to see if the other sword enjoyed the kiss half as much as Kogitsunemaru did. Kogitsunemaru's lips feel tingly and there is a giddy feeling coursing through his veins and he gives Mikazuki an awkward, crooked little half-smile.]
