( It’s been a slow day at the citadel, at least, for actual shounen-notmermaid-turned-person, Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki. He’s finished his field work with plenty of time and energy to spare and without any missions to go on, he’s decided to have some fun for himself.
… Unfortunately, a certain saniwa has hidden their phone away. Wow, talk about no fun. He really wanted to play that one game again. You know, that one game everyone is playing these days according to the colorful ads on tv. He was getting the hang of it the other day. Actually, he’s pretty sure he was even winning! And he was making so many new friends with those “invites.” Well, you can hide your technology from Mutsu but you can't defeat him.
As much as he enjoys this new time, he still enjoys a lot of the old traditions, just like his first master. Which is why you can find him outside, crouched on the ground in front of a small fire pit, roasting some yams he picked while working the field earlier. It's a little out of season but the seasons don't run his life, they don't control his story.
Before you can ask (were you even going to?) Mutsu notices you hanging around and beckons to come over. Yes, even if you’re a particularly stubborn Shinsengumi sword. )
Hey! C'mon over here!

Where's that map anyway? (Someone needs to figure out he can look this up on the internet.)
Still, before he even found the map, he saw Mutsunokami waving him over.]
Yeah? What do ya want, young'un? [He's joking. Okay maybe he's not joking because it's true.]

Kogitsunemaru isn't going to be one of those people. If Mutsunokami is having fun, who is Kogitsunemaru to play fun-police?
Especially when he's being invited over.]

Because Yamato isn't the most stubborn gumiblade that Mutsu could run into, at least, but he's sure not the most welcoming either... The pride of the shogunate is one thing okay, sure, but standing against Okita is unforgivable. And also the rest of the Shinsengumi. Bad news bears, man!!
Still, this isn't a battlefield and Yamato isn't hotblooded by nature. He's not particularly inclined to start up pointless tiffs outside of practice or war, even if SOME BUTTHEADS are rudely offering YAMS in the middle of NON-YAM WEATHER. Instead, in his usual airy way, with just a little more edge than normal:]
I'm on my way to clean the stables. [He says, without any stall equipment on him... Is he even wearing his cleaning gear?? NOPE.]
Do you need something?

Ohh, Yoshiyuki! What's this about?

Mm, that smells nice...

... i literally had to
he only had the game at all because the download was free...
still, judging by the sight of mutsu's little fire-pit, it doesn't look as if haru hiding his phone hurt his feelings too much. that's the good thing about him, he supposes-- nothing seems to get him down for long, and he doesn't seem to need technology to enjoy himself.
still, he blinks as he's waved over, pausing with a basket held in his arms. he'd been out in the field with others just now, on his way to clean up and put everything away, but.. that can wait for the moment. it looks like he's forgiven? ]
.. Are those yams? [ he pads closer, setting his basket down and moving to crouch by mutsu. ]
I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD APOLOGIZE AHEAD OF TIME......
im already crying
enjoy your shounen sword like he enjoys life
theres too much shonen spirit up in here
can you keep up with him

...Also those yams smell delicious.]
Aah, Mutsunokami-san! This is a strange time to be roasting yams, is it not?

Still, he now have free time and was wondering what to do. Maybe go to the kitchens? Or see if there's a new sword being forged by the blacksmith? But before he can ponder any longer, his attention was caught by Mutsunokami.
He blinked and glance around, seeing no other swords near him. Sayo turned his attention back towards Mutsunokami and walked over.]

that doesn't involve getting his hands dirtyand getting it done — so he's not entirely paying attention to mutsu when he's called over. he doesn't rush over when he does notice mutsu, at that — just stands his ground and calmly assesses the situation.]Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki. [full name and title, like a professor about to grill a student on a particularly difficult topic. why... why are there so many yams.] Did you rob a farmer?

Mikazuki then catches the scent of a burning fire and a sweet, earthy aroma. His (still sharp) senses register how odd it is to be doing so in spring. Ah, so its Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki doing the cooking.
When beckoned, he sets down his trusty teacup and glides over.]
Hello, do you need this old man for something?
