[The Citadel is huge, so it's a good thing they have all the time in the world to dick around.
--Well, no, they don't. But the point is, it's a free day. There will be absolutely no work done at all. Unless you want to or something. If you do, you're pretty weird.
The dojo is always open for sparring and practice. If there's any sparring errand you've slacked on, now's the chance to make up! The horse stables are also full of activity, whether the horses are being tended to or rode around-- be careful not to let them trample the fields, though, which is full of rice sprouts and budding cabbage. The lake in front of the saniwa(s)' room has tiny frogs jumping about, and you could catch them in the palm of your hand.
The kitchen is full of food, if you're volunteering to make lunch or have decided that meal time cannot possibly come any later and you simply must prepare something before you die from starvation. While there has been a considerable effort made to make the Citadel look as homely as possible to the swords which come from Japan's past, there's speckles of technology here and there.
The TV room is a good example, with a huge screen sitting on top of a few console systems. Don't break them, you'll only be getting this luxury once. Take turns and play nice. The swords may also find themselves tending the fields with water sprinklers and hoses instead of watering cans, for instance, or heating up some leftover pie in the fridge instead of making another one from scratch since there's technology to preserve food well over a week. The armory and smithy are definitely a little bit more modern than they'd be back in the past, though much is still made by hand-- nothing beats the fine work of a master. Perhaps you'll have a few new friends today, or you want to try creating a cute little soldier spirits todie for you accompany you in battle. Make sure they enter the orb completely, or else it'll turn brown and crack.
Or perhaps you're one of the unlucky swords still stuck in the repair room, sword body still being re-smelted and fixed. Hope the saniwa is good at making you all shiny. If you want to skip all that waiting, perhaps you can try to use a helper token... but they're all in the saniwa's room! Guess you've got to use that Camouflage stat...
But if you truly cannot bear with staying in the Citadel, the time device the saniwa(s) have isn't locked away. You can go on sorties or expeditions to fill your time with something productive.
Just a warning: don't change the past. You won't succeed.
...You could always try, though.]

Mikazuki Munechika | OU | OTA
[ What better way to spend a free day than relaxing beside the lake? Mikazuki sits peacefully beside the waterside, peeking over to examine the tiny creatures hopping and swimming inside of it.
And what better way to see the sights then to enjoy it with a nice cup of tea? Don't worry, he's got more than enough to share, and these extra cups beside him are just begging for someone to join him.
Or perhaps you would rather chase frogs instead? That's alright, too. He'll be laughing at you just as he is with the frogs. ]
( Kitchen )
[
what is he even doing in here, make him go awayWith everyone working so hard lately, it was only customary to want to help out. And so, being the most skillful sword that he was, Mikazuki had chosen to take up the art of riceball making to feed to his companions. This was something simple, right? Even he could handle something like this. Right?
Unfortunately for him, and most likely yourself, these hands weren't exactly made for cooking. So whether you're witnessing him starting the process by making the rice itself, trying to see which ingredients would go best inside the food, or even his poor form or rice shaping, this will... be an adventure. ]
( Repair Room )
[ Every sword has their bad days, right? Luckily it was nothing serious and he was able to come into the repair room before sustaining any grand injuries. But still- a wound was a wound, and Mikazuki was no stranger to the pain.
However, he doesn't seem to concerned with as he bares a smile brushing across his cheeks. In fact, he could quite possibly just laugh the whole thing off. ]
Ahhh... aha, I suppose I will be careful not to make the same mistake next time.
jeez kassie do i have to (i'm kidding). and kitchen because what the fuck
She's no riceball expert, but she's sure that's exactly what you're meant to not do.
POLITELY NOW...]
H-hello! What are you making?
[Who is this monster. She'd never suspect this to be one of Japan's most beautiful swords.]
WOW I LOVE YOU TOO and this is already beautiful
—Nn? Oh, hello. [ Momentarilly distracted from his work (???), the sword lifts his head up to properly address the newcomer in the kitchen.
He smiles. ]
I was working on preparing some riceballs... however, it would seem that I am making more of a mess instead.
I GUESS I LOVE YOU TOO and i can't believe this. he's beauty and grace
you have to deal with so much Viet I am gomen
ARE YOU REALLY GOMEN.

kitchen?!
Usually, it was Shokudaikiri Mitsutada she helped out, but today--she'd never expected it would be him. Mikazuki Munechika was charming, gentle and kind; if she had a "type", she supposes it would be someone like him...even if his onigiri shaping skills resemble this disaster. ]
Mu-Munechika-san, please wait a bit...! Umm, i-if it's okay, I can make you something that will make it easier...
[ But she says this sort of meekly, because who is she to offer to teach him?! ]
lord help us all...
The moment he hears Saya's voice calling to him from the side of the kitchen, his hand movements in furthering to deform the riceball comes to a halt.
Really, he's making such a mess right now... and the rice oddly scattered about and clinging onto his hands are more than evidence enough. ]
Ah ha ha, could you? I would greatly appreciate the assistance.
[ He's not ashamed, and as a matter of fact, he knows he's bad at this. So why not get a little help when it it offered to him? He's never one to back down on that. ]
there is no god here, only swords

lake
Aw...
[ He's not going to give up just yet. He runs back into the citadel for a moment and then returns with a rope. He places the net, his sword, and the rope in front of Mikazuki. ]
Help me tie my net onto the end!

not to actualyouth. Mikazuki had been watching Hotarumaru from the sidelines, chuckling away and sipping at his tea as he did. HE REMEMBERS BACK IN HIS DAY WHEN HE HAD THAT MUCH ENERGY...Ah. But. He left. And now his entertainment is gone— or so he thought. ]
—Hmm?
[ Mildly torn away from his tea, Mikazuki blinks as the objects as thrown in front of his face.
Boy what are you... ]
Ah ha ha, quite determined, are you not? [ All smiles, and certainly no sign of judgement anywhere. He finds this oh so endearing. ]
If that is what you wish, I will help you... [ He places the drink down, beckoning the boy to place the objects in his hands. ]

So who's going to eat it? This guy. ]
...
[ Be nice, be nice, be nice... ]
What are you trying to do? [ NOPE. ] It's too dry.
[ Which is amazing in it's own right considering it's rice
ballsblobs that are being made here.]calling for divine protection
His form is completely off; palms idly flip-flopping the rice in attempts to make a legible shape. Yet all that he has successfully done is make a mess. Sorry. ]
—Hn? Dry? [ What does that even mean.
Casting a glance to the other sword, Mikazuki simply brushes off the statement with a chuckle. ]
Could that be the reason it will not hold?
we'll need it. probably.
most likely.

Don't 'aha' me.
[ He'll be having none of that nonchalant attitude towards the injuries. Archer has made hundreds of weapons of all different kinds, but none of them came even close to the quality of this one. The methods were as different as could be, but it was impossible not to compare the results a little anyway. Anyway, a weapon like that... you can't be half-assed about repairs and you certainly can't be laughing about damages. ]
Save it for when you're back in top condition.

He is aware of the concern, he really is, but that smile isn't going to wipe away anytime soon. Though to slightly appease the man beside him, Mikazuki will reduce his laughter to that of soft chuckling. Really, you were far too amusing. ]
No, you are quite right, Archer-san. Times like these one should find it difficult to laugh, yes?
[ And yet here is Mikazuki. How do you even put up with him- ]
However, I know that you will take good care of me.

Lake:
So Futsu-no-Mitama's taking a stroll along the water's edge, looking down at the frogs playing (and scaring a couple of them off - dammit! He was being as quiet as he could, but it's not his style...)
Seeing the other sitting there, he raises a hand and gives a wave.]
Hey. This spot taken?
no subject
It is not. Please accompany me, if you would like.
[ A pause, his smile growing. ]
That is, if the frogs will allow it... [ Okay, now he is a laughing a bit. Don't think he didn't see how they reacted to you. ]

there's a party in this kitchen.
Old man, I come in here thinking that I pull a surprise on you, but it turns out you're the one who's surprising me. [ yeah, who's the one who waltzes in thinking that he'd pull a fast one on another sword and then whines about it when he's surprised that he doesn't have the chance to? this punk, that's who.
but well, there's something about seeing someone be so earnestly hopeless that brings out the old man in tsurumaru. like a dramatic 'argh, it's hard for me to be a little shit when the other party is acting three years younger than i am'. so it's with a light-hearted sigh that he pushes back his own long and unwieldy bird sleeves to arm himself with a hanging towel and advance towards the war against rice happening in the middle of this kitchen. ] You're awful at this. Turn around.
[ cleaning all that rice off of him would be a good start. as much as he'd want to see mitsutada-kun's shocked face at his pristine kitchen getting turned upside-down like this, if this goes on for any longer, they really aren't going to have any lunch today. ]
it's like staring at the sun for too long
What could be simpler than starting off with a meal? An easy one to prepare, he thought, yet as the process continued and the wreckage of the kitchen soon began to dawn upon him, the likelihood of making it out of here unscathed became a mere passing thought.
It was not until he heard a familiar voice that he had finally turned his attention from... whatever it was in his hands, to the albino beside him. Ah, now this was certainly a surprise to him. ]
Ah ha ha, is that so? It would seem that I am soon to take over your position as the mischievous one. [ His tone is nothing but playful, and a gracious smile erupts from the corners of of his lips when he speaks.
he was going to keep up the playful act though, quickly undermining the mess that had surrounded him- Mikazuki knew he had been caught, and from the looks of it Tsurumaru had unintentionally come to his aid. No that he didn't appreciate at the help. In fact, he was in dire need of it. Someone far more experienced in the kitchen would probably be better suited for this task.
But baby steps. Mikazuki was taking baby steps into this common lifestyle. ]
Cooking is not one of my strong points, I will admit. Though perhaps with a fair amount of practice- [ Laughing all the while as he says this, the older sword will quietly obey when he is asked to turn around.
He will allow the wipe off the rice from him, watching him with gaze full of admiration. ]
I apologize if I have caused you any trouble. [ But he does look like he means it? Maybe. Maybe not. ]

He doesn't look very concerned?! But, yes, frogs. They are quite beautiful and amazing and he's enjoying himself despite his...lack of anything. ]
❤
I see those frogs are very fond of you. Perhaps they too would like some tea as well?
[ An invitation for you to join him, of course! And.. all of your little friends, too. It can be a party. ]

repair
[ Look who is volunteering at the repair room today! With a concerned frown across his face, Horikawa approaches the beautiful noble carefully. Mikazuki surely is so lovely... It makes him frown further to see him in such a state, no matter how minor. He examines the wound for a moment, then accompanies him gently to enter the room.
He runs a little ahead, picking up a comfortable pillow for Mikazuki to sit on. He pats it to invite the elegant sword to take it easy now. But... even though it's like this, he can understand why the other sword is always pushing himself. For the future, for the past, for their new master... They have a second chance to protect what's important for them. How can they back down from it? They will gladly die for their cause. Even so, it's still so sad to think about.
For as long as they can... Apart from that, Horikawa wants everyone to remember that they have each other as well. They can protect each other... That's why everyone's working together, right? He looks at Mikazuki with those big eyes of his, still spelling concern as he begins to unpack the repair kit. ]

Mikazuki will laugh at the small scolding. His smile bright and cheery as ever. It does not look as though he minds in the least. In fact, the look on his face makes it seem as though he is truly taking those words to heart. He never means to worry the others, as hard as he fights. Yet... things don't always turn out the way he expected them to be.
though they could probably blame tsurumaru for that.]I shall carry them to the grave with me. [ Bad timing? Perhaps. But Mikazuki is just going to continue to laugh about it, anyway. Really, his sense of humor...
Though as he is being lead into the repair room, there will be a small limp in his step with each one he takes. Nothing too notable- but the older sword tries not to make a fuss as he finally sits down. Taking in the full comfort of the pillow Horikawa had so gracefully lied out for him. ]
Did I worry you? Truly, I apologize... [ Those eyes, man. Get them away. ]
lake
And while she didn't bring as many daifuku as Mikazuki brought teacups, she is still more than willing to share.
Seeing him sitting there, clearly entertained by the frogs brings a smile to Koharu's face and she comes to a stop next to him. ]
Do you like them?
I AM SO SORRY ;A; jijii caught the flu
That is, after they admire the frogs the moment the older sword hears her speak up. ]
Aha ha ha! They are quite interesting creatures, do you not agree? I truly admire their company.
[ A smile will hastily brush across his face. Statement no further than the truth. ]
But there are some whos company I prefer far over their own.... Would you like to join me?
Kassieee take care of your health. :c <3
lake
Whoops. He cranes his neck (ha, cranes) to see Mikazuki's expression, a smile decorating his own. ]
Ah, sorry about that. [ He might actually mean it this time!? Not too much. ] It seems our friend is eager to join you for a cup of tea.
SORRY FOR THE LATE jijii caught the flu- ;u;
The initial "frog in the tea" motion shoot the older sword only slightly. His body jolting and shoulders tensing from the swift blur that fell before his eyes. Ah. He even got some tea on him...
But how would he react? Certainly not laugh about it. I mean, who could after such a childish act like this one?
Mikazuki. Mikazuki could. ]
Ah ha ha! I do not mind in the least. [ A brief pause. ] Though I wonder if perhaps this frog would much rather have a cup of its own.
kitchen
Because that's what it looks like to Kogitsunemaru right now.
He did drop by to see if he could get away with grabbing a snack but after finding this, he's not sure if he'll ever be able to stomach riceballs ever again. Or look at them the same way again without remembering Mikazuchi's attempts at cooking.]
Aren't you supposed to be more gentle with that?
